Poster Comment:

We've obviously been arguing in a thread over whether or not the GOP is truly better than the Dim Party, or perhaps rather ideologies.

We can refer to them as they are often referred, "Right" and "Left."

But is there really a right and a left politically speaking? For sure representatives in both parties have all categorically slidden "left" throughout the lives of anyone reading this and even further back.

Today's Right's are more left than the Left's of Kennedy, Nixon's, yea even Reagan's day!

And when these people get elected, what's the first thing that they say as a media mantra, "they'll have to move to the center," a center that keeps moving left, "...in order to govern/legislate."

The greatest damage to the liberties of Americans since 9/11 has come from the Right however, not the left, via the creation of an uncontrollable Military and War Industrial Complex that would have had Hitler and other famous historical dictators drooling all over themselves!

I would argue that there is no "right" or "left" other than in terminology which has obviously, to the informed, been used solely to deceive and control!

No, the profile of our politicians is far more consistent with a normal curve.

If one draws a vertical line down through the center of the normal curve, then it divides it into two equal halves with approximately 70% of the population of that distribution very close to that center line. Politically speaking, so close so as that there is tremendously little distinction between the two, with in this case often some "Lefts" even further to the "Right" of some "Rights" and visa versa.

The names Pansy Graham, John McCucaracha, Olympia Snowe-job, Arlen Sphinctor, and Joe Lieberself come to mind immediately. While some "Right" and some "Left" politically speaking, they are all all but interchangeable. Sphincter has even changed political parties recently suggesting little difference overall.

Most decisions are made from "Center," not "Right" or "Left." Those that are typically involve a trade-off going the other way.

In order to see clearly the nature of our Federal Government, people need to begin looking at the 3/4 of the portion of that normal curve as the driving force behind what gets done, or perhaps what's "being done" or being perpetrated upon us by a Government that many seem to view as possessing two diametric halves.

Rather, the American populace has been trained like monkeys to assume that there are two "halves," as it were, of government, with a significant ideological space in between them.

It's a "Good cop" vs. "Bad Cop" routine. To ~ 50% of the populace the "Good Cop" is the "Left," while to the other ~ 50% of the populace the "Good Cop" is the GOP. The "Bad Cop" roles for both are also thusly reversed.

But upon closer examination, it is clear to see that the differences between R and D, other than what is faked via media and "voting patterns" within Congress, that the lines between "Right" and "Left" become tremendously blurred when referring to the individual politicians holding the seats.

This leaves us with a far more normal distribution with really merely one clump of politicians occupying and owning "the middle," which obviously is hostile to the civil liberties of Americans for anyone not having slept through the last 20+ years.

It also means that apart from nomenclature, there is very little if any difference between "Right" and "Left" anymore these days as the entire Government is so far "left" of Constitutional principles and morality that it's in another solar system altogether.

The true issue is the campaign that the Federal Government has embarked upon making itself the enemy of a free people period. Most Americans continue to play the role apparently perfectly content to go into the modern era of serf status to their new masters in the castle. Naturally the crowd rushing to the towers for their "security," while coming with a terminal price whether people realize it yet or not, came with the bugel sounding the warnings of post-9/11 Amerika! Another topic altogether.

Until Americans begin to realize this, they will continue to be owned and played for the sheople that they are and ultimately end up impoverished and as modern day slaves!

I don't think there's any practical difference between the 2 parties when we vote. Some individual odd-balls in each party might be good people in office. Ron Paul certainly. and believe it or not Dennis Kucinich from among the Democrats. Now, I know that Kucinich has some 'leftist' views that many find unsavory. I don't blame them. but Kucinich would over-turn the trading regime we have now which I feel puts our nation at a big disadvantage with our over-priced US dollar and many nations suppressing their currencies to us. I digress. but Kucinich would eliminate all the wars and would eliminate the federal reserve too. I don't care if the guy is a communist, if he wants to do those things, then I'll vote for him.

but Kucinich and Paul are odd-balls in their own party and referred to publicly that way by others in their parties.

From a practical point of view there is no difference between the 2 parties.

The Democrats did get about 60% of both Senate and House as well as the White House. They made no real changes at all. Their health care bill was a great disappointment to the sincere people among the democrats who did want health care reform. The 'single pay' option was rejected by Obama before the legislation was crafted and with it all hope of controlling costs which is what desperately is needed. You see not everybody among the democrats wants to push up costs. Republicans and democrats together over decades have built a health care system that is extraordinarily expensive compared to other nations. Whose preferences are the high costs? Many Democrats wanted to attack that problem. Obama disrupted their efforts. and on the Republican side, we hear talk and accusations against democrats, but have they ever done anything good to control costs in the health care world? Where is this tort reform they always speak of? Why are they just plain unconcerned about costs though these costs are killing us?

I read articles about how after Obama came in they'd have a vote on supplemental war funding and 90% of the democrats would vote for it. The Democrat voters would rather not fund any of the wars. and here are democrat politicians going against their own base. and they issued a statement where they literally said that the republicans made them do it. Even though they have a large majority.

democrat republican same exact thing. from a practical point of view there is no difference.

as far as our people - it is like Eric said, they're trained monkeys. they buy into this left-right paradigm even though it is 100% fraud.

Among the intellectuals there are different camps. and you can use words like liberal, conservative, progressive, etc. to define some of the camps. but among the actual politicians there is no such thing - other than for image only, or else it is the unusual odd-ball.

the 'tea party' people scare me. because they're insane. I've already had people accost me and tell me that we need to vote Republican to stop the big government, the deficit spending, etc. but the republicans have never demonstrated that they are for small government. In the 1990's there were 5 years where we had a democrat dominated congress (1990-1994) and 5 years where we had a republican congress (1995-1999). the rate of spending increase was almost the same for the 2 periods, but it was very slightly higher under the republicans. in the early 2000's certainly we saw a fascist regime that expanded government spending massively. and here's these 'tea party' people swearing that Obama is the great leader of big government and we have to put republicans in. all Obama has done is follow Republican leadership from prior to him being elected. so the tea party people it seems to me are mentally imbalanced.
