Fort Hood, Texas (CNN) -- The shooting at Fort Hood was captured on video by a soldier using his cell phone camera as he hid from the shooter, but he was ordered to erase it, the soldier said Friday. Pfc. Lance Aviles spoke of the video as he testified on the third day of the Article 32 military hearing for Maj. Nidal Hasan, who is accused of killing 13 people and wounding 32 in the November 2009 shooting. Aviles said he was told by a non-commissioned officer, who Aviles said was acting on the orders of an officer, to delete the video on the same day of the shooting. He did not describe to the court what the video contained. It was not immediately clear whether the military would look into why the video was ordered deleted. A Fort Hood official, who insisted on anonymity because of the ongoing criminal investigation into the shootings, said, "Since this matter was raised during the Article 32 hearing, it is for the Article 32 hearing officer to decide whether to make further inquiries to the soldier's chain of command for additional information." Aviles also testified that he saw the gunman stop to reload and considered rushing him. But by the time Aviles got up, he said, the shooter "had already loaded another magazine. So instead of running to him, I ran off to the right." Hasan, partially paralyzed, was wheeled into the courtroom by a blue-uniformed police officer. Occasionally he used his arms to reposition himself in his chair while listening to the testimony. Spc. Megan Martin, speaking via video from Kandahar, Afghanistan, said she constantly relives the events of the day. She said she was not injured, but "it was a nightmare that reoccurs every day." Despite the trauma, she said she did not seek to delay her deployment to Afghanistan. "I wanted to carry on the mission as my fellow soldiers would have wanted me to," she said. Poster Comment: This is one of those little tidbits that slips out through the cracks that leaves you wondering what the motive was for deleting this evidenciary video. While there is not enough information to speculate on what the video showed, or might have shown, we can conclude that someone believed it might show something contrary to the official line. We do know the shooter was a Psychiatrist, and so we can speculate as to whether he might have been involved in some kind of Mind Control operation, but the data is too tenuous to forge a clear link. However, what this does show is that all is not as it seems or as it is being represented. Stay Tuned

Exactly - the propaganda value is immense for those who are selling "Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace©®", but not if there was some sort of "fly in the ointment" revealed by the video. I don't know what it was but I can infer its presence from the action taken. You don't destroy the evidence of a criminal act without a reason, and Political Correctness doesn't pass the sniff test.

Just pure speculation but I can think of two things they might want to keep covered: Someone giving an obvious "Trigger" command to set him off. OR There was at least one other shooter. It is kind of like the Nick Berg video - which at first looks heinous and then you look at it closer and all the outpoints start popping out: No blood from his carotid artery. He should have spurted like a fountain unless he was already dead. The paint colors, the orange jumpsuit, and the plastic chairs all match Abu Ghraib. One of the "muslims" is wearing a gold ring - forbidden in Islam. One of them mutters in Russian to the effect of "let's get this over with". Their Turbans are tied incorrectly for the area they are supposed to be from. And there were other outpoints with the videotape itself and the time stamp.

It is unlikely that it would ever be shown save maybe one or two frames. However, even then the primary value is as evidence of the crime. No, the reason for erasing it is not in the public record so anything on it is speculation. However, having an order come down from an Officer means that someone wanted it gotten rid of. A junior officer made aware of the video would almost certainly immediately tell his superior and it would ripple up the chain of command to the C.O. within an hour or two. The order to destroy that video had to come from somewhere well up the chain of command, which means that someone had a reason, and senior officers don't make command decisions, generally, based on "Political Correctness". Nope there is something here that we don't know, some specific reason to dump the evidence.

Given this crime happened across a military base, with multiple cameras located there. I doubt there was just one video of the event in question.
There are reasons for and against something. Those in Pentagon and the White House for years have bent over backwards to say, "the war on terror is not a war on muslims." That would be motive enough from a standpoint of political correctness to erase the tape. Or, it could be a lie. That a copy of the tape exists and the original was deleted.

Given this crime happened across a military base, with multiple cameras located there. I doubt there was just one video of the event in question. You have a devious mind. I approve. Now that would be a reason to deep six the recording i.e., they already had a better quality tape. However, and again that is just speculation, because this did not occur out in the street, and there is no certainty that there was another video recording device recording the "event".

Originally it was 2 maybe 3 shooters. Then one shooter shot dead and another on the loose and possibly a third barricaded in somewhere with hostages. Then one shooter shot dead and the other shooter confirmed barricaded in with hostages with folks trying to talk him down. Then situation resolved shooters were one not 3 nor two and shooter was shot dead. Lastly the magic of media brought him back to life and gave us a muslim face to express our anger. And do not pay attention to any rumors of a second or third shooter. and yes hasan did it all with two pistols one in each hand just like out of the fucking matrix. Question your news.

FWIW Michael Rivero at WhatReallyHappened has the following note on the story - his comment: So assuming there were multiple shooters it then makes more sense as to why they would dump what would have clearly been significant and important evidence at a trial. It might even be that the 4 were under the care of the Psych who had the crime pinned on him and that the 4 that went off were all on Psych medication. That would be bad for Big Pharma.

Some folks were killed by "friendly" fire but they want to pin all of it on the evil doer. Entirely possible, even probable. However, that would likely have resulted in a slower suppression of the video. Someone appears to have almost immediately recognized that this video was a problem and ordered it destroyed. So, here time is an element. Just looking at likely human reactions people not aware that this could have devastating implications would act more slowly to suppress and likely have even kept the video in private for some time before destroying it. This is all speculation and inference of course, but we return to the fact standing out that the destruction of important evidence in such a rapid manner is to say the least anomalous. It is another one of those Imus, "What doesn't fit and why?", scenarios.

The story I got from an anonymous insider is that there were four soldiers who thought they were headed home, but had been told they were being sent back to Iraq yet again. These guys lost it, started shooting, and were killed by guards. But the military and the US Government did not want word of an actual armed mutiny in the ranks to get out, aware that it might trigger a cascade of similar incidents among a rank and file clearly pushed to the breaking point. So, the Muslim guy got blamed for it, and as this story confirms, the actual evidence of what happened was ordered destroyed.
