You seem to have difficulty in determining how the final nails will be put into the coffin of your liberties.
Eric, not to be argumentative here, but some of us have been kicking around these issues long before you have. I won't bore you with my personal story, but let me say this; you haven't a monopoly on understanding the issues nor their critical nature. We disagree on how to step back off the edge of the cliff, and for me at least, I'm no longer going to walk around like Marley's ghost covered with chains. I have a life to live and if and when the perfect candidate appears on the scene, perhaps we can both work for h/she.
Klein may be a Zionist too, but I don't see the expenses for the wars being pushed nearly as hard from the left.
Yeah, lets bag this since nothing either of us will say is going to change minds or opinion regarding this election cycle. I will say this about wars. christine once posted a great flow chart regarding them, and under which administration - a D or an R - the war(s) began. maybe she can find it. Also, my first presidential vote was for Nixon who ran as a "end the war with honor" candidate. Vietnam was JFKs & JBJs baby.
And today we are holding naval maneuvers with Vietnam as potential allies...against China.
War is a very profitable business.
You got that right, and that extends back to our Revolution when the French lent us a hand. Let's hop into the real world for a moment; the last guy who hinted at peace from a position of power was JFK. The most recent civilian was a guy named Ritter {sp}? Toss in Cindy Sheehan for comic relief. So, as I see it, the problem is war is in our collective DNA. I have no doubt it will handed down to my children & g'children, as it was to us. How to end the cycle? Isn't that what the trash who surrounds Obama tried to do in the 60s? Well hot damn if the Woodstock generation who now steers the ship hasn't had a collective change of heart. Add to them all the leftist crap who infest our universities - peaceniks turned warmongers. What else to conclude except war is the way things are, the way things were and the way things will be. I don't much like it, but again, my head hurts from banging it against a wall hoping someone will emerge and lead us.
