Lawn mower used in dog jailbreak

Hydro -- An elderly man landed in jail after springing hsi dog from the town kennel. Instead of paying a $100 fine for not having his poodle on a leash, 73 year old Edwin Fry decided to bust out the dog, Buddy tough, driving his lawn mower to the Hydro city pound Oct. 13 and breaking into the cage with bolt cutters. Police officer Christ Chancellor intercepted them as they tried to escape. Fry spent several days in jail, and Buddy Tough was euthanized while his owner was jailed.

My sentiments exactly. Too bad they didn't euthanize the worthless cop instead of someone's beloved dog.

Just look around at the condition of the country and tell me if they have fulfilled their oaths to protect the nation from all enemies foreign and domestic.

That is really beyond sick.

Our country is in the death-throes of its common sense and decency.

Jailing an olde man and killing his beloved pet?

Truly evil.

When my beloved boycat died at 18, I grieved for 9months then went to the Humane shelter and tried to adopt a gold tiger kitten just like my Frodo was as a kitten. They turned me down because I let my animals have the freedom of my 70 acre farm. They only adopt to people who keep their animals locked up. I used to do that, but my husband(Paddlefeets) only raises free spirits and made me change my ways. I tried for two weeks to adopt the kitten...I even offerred a $1000 donation. But NO, they euthanized the kitten. I used to be a lifetime member of the Humane shelter, then I learned you do things their way or they kill the animal. I hate their guts.

When I last visited the shelter(the day I found they killed the kitten rather than give him to me), the director told me goodbye in a chirpy tone. I've known her for 25 years, and she was a patient of mine before I retired from my practice. Therefore, remaining quite mindful of my dignity, I turned, walked up to her, put my nose 2 inches from hers, and quietly said "Fuck You".

If any animal of mine ever gets in their custody, I will rip the place to pieces getting him/her back.

If that had been my dog whoever made the decision and the one who carried it out--assuming it was two separate people--would be considered fair game.

Sick, sad, and so very wrong.

Humane Shelters tend to attract mini Nazis. I found out a lot when I researched them. They kill more than they save in many areas like my hometown. However, 20 miles away in the next county they will adopt out much more readily. Some states have Humane Societies that are trying to get custody of all pets in divorce cases. I give my money to the local no-kill shelter.

Maybe, this old man already knew the type of community shelter he was dealing with when he tried to break out his dog.

How a society treats its animals, and elderly is the true measure of civilization.

People who kill animals like that, believe in their hearts that they are doing right, but that is a misguided belief that turns people into serial killers. It's the only power they have in their lives, and they use it the same way a child would wish their parents into a cornfield if they could when not given a dessert after dinner.

I truly hate so many people in our society for good reasons. People like these are truly what makes this place a hell to be in.

If you ever needed someone to help you destroy an animal shelter to free some animals, I'd be up for it. I'm a big believer in animal rights, probably not as militant as some folks, but I am all about fairness and what is morally and ethically right.

When my cat got sick with cancer, at the age of 8, it broke my heart in a way that I can't explain. I made her urn myself and have her ashes in a cabinet. She was my pet, and my friend. An abandoned kitten that I took in, that would have been yet another kill shelter statistic.

We adopted another cat after our male started acting out. The new cat isn't nearly the cat that I had, but she's a good hearted animal to say the least. Even after finding out that the cat had been abused at the previous home, she is still incredibly loving. I'd be hard pressed to find many humans that if suffered horrible abuses were capable of being as good.

It's those people who gravitate towards these kinds of professions of power where they can do some damage to people, and break their spirits.

It's those kinds of people who truly need to be euthanized and sent to the great beyond. Let them populate a hell somewhere else instead of creating one here.

It is better to be hated for what you are, than loved for what you are not. - Tommy The Mad Artist.

Poor Edwin and Buddy, my heart goes out to them. If I were in that OK town, I'd begin a campaign against the town kennel that they would never forget!!

"The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. ... We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of." Edward Bernays, Father of Public Relations

I installed 100' of cat fence like this for about $1000. Using the house for one side of the enclosure, it provides over 1000 square feet of outdoor space for our 5 cats. Access is via a cat door, so they can go out whenever they please. In the 2 or 3 years that we've had it, none have ever escaped. It worked out so well that we recently ordered enough to fence the whole back yard.

One nice thing about this kind of fencing material is that it doesn't really obstruct your view --- you can see right through it.

My previous house had a setup like this for cats. Our farm only has a chicken fence though. We are about a thousand feet from the nearest road. We have a cat door and a dog door(6 cats and 3 dogs). Paddlefeets built perches everywhere near the house. They come and go as they please, but spend most of the day near or in the house. The dogs spend their time with grandma(my mother) who has a house about 50 feet from ours as she is an endless source of hotdogs.
