The soldier was killed on Thursday, NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said in a statement. The statement released no further details in line with ISAF policy. The death brings to 598 the number of foreign troops killed in Afghanistan so far this year. The total for 2009, the second deadliest year, was 521, including 317 American soldiers. US troops are stationed in eastern provinces under ISAF command.
Poster Comment: how about this Pajhwok Afghan News? They were founded in 2003 and are now magically the #1 'independent' news bureau in Afghanistan with 8 bureaus. you know this group is a puppet group set up by money from CIA. we Americans had 8 fatalities in 2001 after we initially invaded Afghanistan allegedly due to the september 11'th attacks. We overthrew their government successfully and installed Karzai who had been a lobbyist for Carlyle Group as their president. and we only lost 8 men doing it. But every year since 2001 the death toll of Americans has increased. Here we are in 2010 and it is another increase in deaths over 2009. The US agenda in Afghanistan/Pakistan is to engage in war. The figurehead of the US government (Obama) said it was the 'good war'. They are taking actions to purposely cause the 'war' to get larger and larger, not smaller. I remind you that people in the Afghan government have publicly said that they have evidence that US paid for contractors set IED explosives against Afghan civilians and against ISAF forces. I remind you that a US Senator (Levin) has said that evidence indicates that US paid for contractors have helped the opposition. People have witnessed helicopters ferrying taliban troops to battle. The ruling regime has a purpose of wars in many countries and is creating those wars. The huge costs of these wars are incidental, it seems as though they want our government to be in a bankruptcy position. Our enemies are in Washington.

The relationship between morality and liberty is a directly proportional one. "Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters." - Ben Franklin
