That was one of the nuttiest vids that I've seen in a while.

She says that "we have gawd-given sexual desires". OK, fine. She believes in gawd, and that's her business. Then why not indulge those gawd-given desires that we all have? I can't be the only one that sees the stupidity of this repression.

And those that claim they dont masturbate are probably doing that very thing right now. She probably uses batteries by the case AND has carpal tunnel syndrome.

In fact, she's kind of cute in that vid. Excuse me, I have "something" I need to "take care of" right now...

i covered this topic previously in another thead. i can't see the vid & know nothing about odonnel. some claim she was a witch, i think she says she is now Catholic. the logic is that we all have sex drive, a human characteristic (from our Creator). since we arent dogs, we must use it properly. failure to do so results in a disordered individual, as well as societal chaos which reigns today. when someone wastes the seed, so to speak, via solo abuse or artificial contraception (as the biblical story of Onan), we reject Gods law & suffer for it. such addictions lead to no happiness or true fulfilment, which the marital act brings.

I disagree.

No one said that people should act like dogs. And it isn't an "addiction" but a 100% natural drive.

It is repression of a natural drive that leads to problems. And gawds laws are repressive. They demand that natural desires not be honored and acted on. Jebus (supposedly) telling men that to look on a woman with lust is to commit adultery and are therfore they're a'goin' tuh HAYell is total foolishness. It's like telling someone not to breathe.

that's like saying that control of your inpulses is a bad thing. quite the opposite! the proper role is expressing mutual love & procreation both within marriage bond, ideally. everyone screwing any chick in a skirt results in total chaos, broken families, abortions, poverty, diseasem etc. fallout. same as people who don't have sexual relationships at all & use porno instead of a real woman. i realize everyones done all that. however, it is very unhealthy & unfulfilling , to us spiritual beings, in the end.Yes, there is fleeting pleasure. but life is meant to be so much more than that.

Do you really think that people are incapable of moderation without some church telling them what they can and can't do? No church is that powerful, or rather it is only as powerful as people give up their power to the churches. They are more than happy to rule over those kinds of people.

I stand by what I said. Repression of natural drives is what leads to problems. There is nothing healthy about it.

Did you ever see that thead where poster Sonofliberty was arguing with some arrogant poster who was boasting that adultery was fun, fulfills a need, & harms no one. it was an outrageous (albeit amusing) immature & self indulgent & heathonistic position to take. same would apply here. indulging in every of our impulses would land us in deep trouble, if not in prison to boot!

No I missed that one. Was it about him only or was it an "open marriage"? If it was about open marriage then that is their business what they choose to do. If it was about him cheating on his wife then he is without honor and deserves what he gets, because it does harm someone.

I never said that there weren't consequences to bad behavior. This country and planet is reaping that harvest right now.

But churches do not restrain peoples bad behavior. They just keep it hidden. There are any number of scandals that show this. What about all of the scandals that we dont know about?
