...nor will I vote this coming Tuesday. Not a single person on my ballot was worth a damn and I'm not about to enable political idiots who claim to be conservatives while they nickle and dime me to death every time they meet in legislative session.

I vote any third party for Federal elections.

My hubby and I donate, advertize, and campaign for local candidates for commissioner, sheriff, assessor, etc. National politicians can screw you, but local politicians can really screw you. All local politics are dirty, but we are Landlords on the side and we really need the local politicians. We go to meetings, protest, and put ads in the newpaper when they try to slip something by, and every couple of years we get out our lawyers and sue someone. We also have hosted a couple of large public protest forums against property taxes, annexation, and corrupt TIF districting which attract TV stations and politicians. We try hard to be enough of a pain in the ass that they avoid hurting us.

We won.

The mayor blew up at Paddlefeet at the public hearing and told everyone in the room to get the hell out if they were not on board. The mayoe blew up, then he sent cops to escort Paddles out of the building. We got everone behind us in public meetings and they called, and wrote, and hounded city council members to not back the mayor. Then we sued the city and they withdrew their motion to annex. The development project they had planned on our farm then fell through. We later found out that several county council members were going to be in on the development financially.
