Title: John Boehner says NO to earmarks

I felt this needed it's own thread since the noise on GDT Raw Story report would have been impossible to break through.

Raw Story

Below are two articles that contradict his posting. Both are dated 11/5/10, and the first is written by Boehner himself. It's hard to believe he would go on Fox, Thursday, 11/4, state what GDT reports, and then author the WSJ article the next day. Let me say all these "leaders" need close watching, but I suggest we get things right before we jump the gun.

I have no idea what report(s) are correct at this moment, and if Raw Story is indeed more accurate that the WSJ, the Republican Party will blow a large hole in it's foot, thus allowing Tea Party folk to fully separate from the vehicle they used to carry them into congress.

I suggest we read the articles, and put the rope back in the closet until we know more.

Poster Comment: • No earmarks. Earmarks have become a symbol of a broken Washington, and an entire lobbying industry has been created around them. The speaker of the House shouldn't use the power of the office to raid the federal Treasury for pork-barrel projects. To the contrary, the speaker should be an advocate for ending the current earmark process, and should adhere to a personal no-earmarks policy that stands as an example for all members of Congress to follow

I have maintained a no-earmarks policy throughout my time of service in Congress. I believe the House must adopt a moratorium on all earmarks as a signal of our commitment to ending business as usual in the spending process. *******

When shill posters lie and spread false information about the Tea Party it's called a propaganda Attack, not "free speech"

Have to disagree.

It is not up to you or me to decide if it is a lie or not. If we want to refute it, that is our option.

There is plenty of pap, pablum and poop here as on any forum (propaganda) all brought to us via free speech. We need to learn to cope with it, as the alternative is much worse.

You and your elitists friend will find there is not a place on earth you can hide from righteous retribution.

Or have you forgot that you and your elitists are also crashing the economies of the rest of the world.

Such a defense falls on the deaf ears of your victims whom are starving and dispossessed.

PaulCJ - some of those here are doing everything they can to attack the Tea Party. Facts be damned for them.

JT - I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees the obvious,

This forum has become a sounding board for democrat shills, losers and malcontents.

We need to clean house. There are at least 4 posters here that belong at DU or the nest, we all know who they are. Who will have the courage to show them the door? It's not a "free speech" issue, it's defending yourself from propaganda attacks from the left and those who benefit from it.

The Tea Party has a chance to reclaim this country over the next few cycles, we don't need some RAT stooges muddying the waters before a single one of our people are sworn in.

Show them no mercy, just show them the door.

And then I start the next day off all over again.... similar to the broken record of Washington DC that you believe can change in some sort of direction that never can or never shall be because of a few voters caught up in some sort of euphoria.

The flipside of the protectionists or supporters for illegal aliens invading America are the same as those begging to support Israel and other cockamamie nations (usually under the suspicious umbrella of "national security"). It is a shame they don't realize their own treason and tyranny.

These same treasonous faith based or financially based cowards may pray to God in heaven; they may beg for forgiveness from someone akin to government in Washington DC; they may rationalize their cheap charlatan tricks with family and loved ones but they can not run from a high powered projectile from a good firearm with a well trained shooter pulling the trigger.

I have only see one person do this and that is Red Jones. But then I am unable to visit f4um as much as I used to so I miss a lot.

Do you want to try to sabotage and stifle the Tea party movement, promote prejudice in the minds of lurkers before good men like Rand Paul and Allen West have even taken office?

I do not believe that being skeptical of the Tea Party movement is sabotaging and/or stifling the Tea Party movement. I have not forgotten the actions of the Republican Party during the time they had complete control of Congress. As far as I could tell tea Party candidates ran on the exact same platform as their Republican counterparts - small government, less taxes and perpetual war. As I've stated previously, I do not believe that it is possible to have small government and perpetual war. I also believe it is fiscally irresponsible as well as unsustainable to have tax cuts while continuing to spend like drunken sailors on perpetual wars and entitlements.

Having said that, I will wait patiently and see what happens (as if I have a choice LOL). Maybe my skepticism will be shown to be misplaced. I would like that.

Are you so selfish and jealous that you are mad that the first real change to come to America since the civil war comes through the Republican Party and not some 2% of the vote third party that you advocate obstructing it?

Are you so forgetful that you do not remember this same sort of shit was said in 1994 and 2000?

The Tea Party represents the true green shoots of a reclaimed America, let us not block it's sunlight while it is still taking roots.

Voicing skepticism and pointing out double-talk isn't blocking sunlight. I have voiced legitimate questions concerning the views of Tea Party candidates. Questions not being addressed by the government's propaganda news channels or talking heads.

Anyone who believes they have some right to take money from others and spend it on projects that they wouldn't spend a dime on if it was their own money* is lower than a thief. A thief doesn't pretend that what he is doing is right but politicians rob people under color of law and thus make the law itself disrespected, dishonorable and disreputable.

*Even if they WOULD spend their own money on it because they thought it was worthwhile still doesn't give them the right to take from others to fund what they believe should be funded. And if you ever notice, when they release their tax forms, the ones who yammer the most about the "unfairness of it all" are the ones who give the least to charity.

Liberty is not a means to a higher political end. It is itself the highest political end.
