Did you all know that Zacharia Sitchen passed away on October 9th?

I read no reports on his passing and was very surprised to hear this news today.

I found a brief blurp from his family:

We regret to inform you that Zecharia Sitchin passed away on the morning of October 9th. A small, private family funeral was held the next day.

The family asks that you respect its privacy during this difficult time and refrain from contacting family members directly. Instead, to offer tributes to Mr. Sitchin or to contact those handling his affairs, please email tributes@sitchin.com or send a letter to P.O. Box 577, New York, NY 10185.

We appreciate the support that you have given over the years. Please continue to monitor this website for further updates.

Sorry about the way I butchered his name on that quick posting...........

As you can all see, the correct spelling is Zecharia Sitchin.

Yes...

I did quick research on him, do not recall ever having knowledge of the gentleman.

I was aware of him. The one thing that stands out was the comment by another researcher who described his translations of Sumerian as "novel". Not listing Sumerian among the scripts I can read I am not in a position to offer a personal opinion.

My English teacher was a young nice looking lesbian.

For whatever reason, she liked me and managed to get me thru high school.

I always wanted to stay after school but alas, she was wise.

I was a voracious reader in High School. Unfortunately it was rarely what my teachers wanted me to be reading. ;-)

In literature, she doted on Silas Marner, what agony that was. I always thot it was punishment.

Thankfully old Silas was not in the curriculum when I took Lit. in H.S.. I do have fond memories of "MacBeth" and "A Tale of Two Cities" though.
