Did you all know that Zacharia Sitchen passed away on October 9th?

I read no reports on his passing and was very surprised to hear this news today.

I found a brief blurp from his family:

We regret to inform you that Zecharia Sitchin passed away on the morning of October 9th. A small, private family funeral was held the next day.

The family asks that you respect its privacy during this difficult time and refrain from contacting family members directly. Instead, to offer tributes to Mr. Sitchin or to contact those handling his affairs, please email tributes@sitchin.com or send a letter to P.O. Box 577, New York, NY 10185.

We appreciate the support that you have given over the years. Please continue to monitor this website for further updates.

I was aware of him. The one thing that stands out was the comment by another researcher who described his translations of Sumerian as "novel". Not listing Sumerian among the scripts I can read I am not in a position to offer a personal opinion.

I am fascinated with ancient history/archaeology to no end. And while I am not by any means trapped by the limitations of the lamestream paradigm I nevertheless have fallen short of accepting Mr. Sitchin's theses. I do believe though that there has been at least one, and probably two, or more, technologically advanced cultures on this planet preceding our own.

There is plenty of evidence for it Cyni, and much of it in plain sight if you are willing to set aside the programmed preconceptions inculcated by academic authoritarian pronouncements.

There is physical evidence at several locations, the Dead Quarter in the Saudi Arabian Desert comes to mind, which bear the signature of nuclear explosions in prehistory. As well the Indian Vedas speak of what appears to be a nuclear weapon - referred to in the Mahabharata as "the Iron Thunderbolt" which could level a city in a single blast.

As well British researcher Christopher Dunn, a retired master machinist, has done extensive measurements on Egyptian artifacts and concluded from the precision and tool marks that many of them could only have been made with power tools. The Sarcophagus in the "Kings Chamber" in the Great Pyramid is a stone box of precision work. Mr. Dunn measured it's accuracy using an aerospace grade rule. The corners are true to with thousandths of an inch - aerospace precision.

I could go on for a while, but there is plenty of evidence - much of which the lamestream spends great amounts of time ignoring.
