TSA, what does it really stand for? I think it stands for "The Stupid Americans."

How does stopping a hijacker from boarding a plane protect the passengers on the plane?

It doesn't in anyway. If you want to protect passengers on a airplane then you let them all carry weapons. A terrorist could take a plane down at any time with a heat seeking shoulder fired missile at almost any point in a large radius around an airport. The TSA is not stopping one terrorist from blowing a plane out of the sky, not one!
