It appears (from the picture) that he is not going to be around a lot longer. Maybe he still has time to reflect and make amends, if not with the people he has harmed, with God. Now whether he is too arrogant and self assured to do that I certainly don't know. But God does.

I understand what you're saying. It is HARD to care what happens to people like Cheney, the Bush's, Obama's etc. Really hard. But as a Christian I don't want to see ANYONE go to hell. Because I don't want to see it doesn't mean that some won't choose to go but the Bible says it is not God's will. I am sure you recall that Jesus, who had no sin and who died so that anyone who believed in him (and repented of their sins), was crucified between two criminals. Jesus could have forgiven both of them but only one asked him to "remember him." And the other mocked Jesus. 39And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. 40But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? 41And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. 42And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. 43And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. Luke 23:39-43 One thief recognized that Jesus had not harmed anyone and did not deserve to die while they were receiving punishment for actual crimes. Yet knowing death was upon him he humbled himself before Jesus. Doubt he had time to give a full confession or recite a litany of his crimes, just asked Jesus to remember him. And Jesus told him that he would. Will Cheney recognize the truth that the humbled thief did? I don't know, but God does. But if he doesn't he will be without excuse.

Forgiveness is a struggle for most, if not all, of us. It is not easy to forgive those who have wronged us unless we think of those we have wronged. Some of the people who have wronged me never asked me to forgive them but I have forgiven them anyway. I am sure there are some things that would cause me very serious problems and perhaps that I couldn't forgive. If someone did something that hurt my family or my friends for example. But the wrongs that have been committed against me I have forgiven because Jesus forgave me. Some would probably say that some of the people I forgave didn't deserve it, especially if they knew what I was forgiving. But to that I say that I didn't deserve the gift Jesus gave me either. So, having said that, I have forgiven those who have wronged me and asked those I have wronged to forgive me. If there is someone I have hurt unintentionally and don't know about it I hope they will let me know so that I can make things right if I can. The following is one of my favorite prayers and I hope that I also can face the Father with clean hands and straight eye and that my spirit may go to the Father without shame. Oh father, whose voice I hear in the winds and whose breath gives life to all the world, hear me. I am a man before you, one of your many children. I am small and weak. I need your strength and wisdom. Let me walk in beauty, and make my eyes behold the red and purple sunset. Make my hands respect the things you have made, my ears sharp to hear your voice. Make me wise, so that I may know the things you have taught my people, the lessons you have hidden in every leaf and rock. I seek strength, father- not to be superior to my brothers, but to be able to fight my greatest enemy, myself. As well, while you can forgive someone that sins against you, if they do not want forgiveness, likely because they don't recognize the need for it or don't care, then they will not be forgiven.
