Anger at Bristol Palin’s dancing leads to 15-hour SWAT standoff

By Eric W. Dolan Wednesday, November 17th, 2010 -- 1:34 pm

A 66-year-old man from rural Dane County in Wisconsin faces charges of second-degree reckless endangerment after he shot his television because he was angered by Bristol Palin's dancing.

On Monday night, Steven N. Cowan and his wife were watching "Dancing With The Stars" when Cowan flew into a rage and told his wife to grab his pistols.

"The (expletive) politics," he yelled, according to the complaint.

Cowan was upset with Bristol Palin's performance on the on the ABC program.

He felt Palin was not a good dancer and that she was only on the show because of her famous mother, former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

Cowan's daughter had previously hidden her father's pistols for safety reasons, but he managed to find a single-shot shotgun, which he then loaded and used to destroy his television set, according to the complaint.

Fearing for her life, Cowan's wife fled the house and called police from a nearby lawyer's office.

"He scared the bejebees out of me," she told police.

A SWAT team surrounded his home for 15 hours Monday and Tuesday before negotiators were able to talk Cowan into surrendering without incident.

A spokeswoman for Dane County Sheriff's Department told the Associated Press that Cowan works as a landlord, but didn't know where he owned property.

She said he has a clean criminal record.

If convicted, Cowan could face up to 10 years in prison.

Cowan was under stress because of money problems and was receiving care for a mental health problem, according to his wife.

He [Cowan] felt Palin was not a good dancer and that she was only on the show because of her famous mother, former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

Not true at all. Bristol is a star in her own right. She has the signature of an unwed mother... a victim in contemporary society of being used for sexual gain. This same stature leads to all kinds of celebrity status.

Cowan was just jealous.

A 66-year-old man from rural Dane County in Wisconsin...

That whole state is just weird in general. From the butchers-in-uniform they supplied during the Civil War to the gangster shenanigans during the 1920's/1930's to the far-left BS during the 1960's/1970's, there is an ongoing mental illness that infects most cheeseheads.

X, Bristol Palin's dancing ability, or lack of dancing ability, is SERIOUS business. The import has obviously been underestimated thus far.

Liberty is not a means to a higher political end. It is itself the highest political end.

He (Gordon Duff) also implies that forcibly removing Obama, a Constitution-hating, on-the-down-low, crackhead Communist, is an attack on America, Mom, and apple pie. I swear these military people are worse than useless. When I was a kid there was a guy in my neighborhood who shot his tv when Nixon was giving a speech.

Other than the horror over the thought of the expense he and his family would have to incur in buying a new tv, the story met with derision and sympathy with those I knew. Nobody seriously thought he was a threat to Nixon in real life.

Democrats don't mind war as long as they can have big government. Republicans don't mind big government as long as they can have war.
If you believe in small government, then you shouldn't be in the White House.

he was recieving care for a mental health problem,

The "care" is working out for the pigs.

The "pigs", of course in this case are the police, judges, lawyers, doctors, big pharma, the the entire "ruling class."

Mental health "treatment" usually includes "neuroleptic" drugs which induce numerous well known side effects such as explosive violence, poor judgement, extreme hostility, many chronic illnesses, deny a sense of well being, and resentment towards those who were responsible for ordering the "treatment."

There are consequences to talking smack about Turtle....all of them bad, some of them too horrible to contemplate.
