Jeff Bridges can and will out play the Duke with one eye tied behind his back any day of the week. He will reveal once and for all what a lousy actor JW was all along.

I'l agree with you, angK, that Jeff Bridges is a better actor: The Last Picture Show, K-PAX, Seabiscuit, Starman, Tron, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, Tucker: The Man and His Dream, The Big Lebowski, etc., he's portrayed a wider range of characters than John Wayne did.
I do agree that Hollywood is anti-John Wayne due to his strong anti-communist beliefs and his ostracism by a large segment of Hollywood.
