Bobby Fisher was a tremendous talent. and he was horribly persecuted simply for speaking. From a technical point of view the US government persecuted him (they said) because he played in a chess match in a nation where he was told not to play in. He violated one of the economic sanctions dictates from the powers that be. It is a hallmark of our world today that the people who rule are greatly empowered by trade treaties between the nations. and they promote an ideology of global trade, telling us that we must trade in their trade treaties in order to be civilized, acceptable, etc. And then on a regular basis the powers that be will select a particular nation and dictate that everybody isolate that nation in trade. They did it to Iraq in the 1990's and it cost over 1 million lives. Bobby Fisher was on the wrong side of one of those dictates to isolate a nation. Now there are efforts to isolate Iran.
and on top of that they have uneven trade rules all over the place. Whereas, different nations have different rules, tariffs are not equal at all. Some nations are pre-determined producers with their currencies being perpetually suppressed despite their great exports. and some nations are pre-determined consumers with imports far exceeding exports and debt being made perpetually available to finance their consumption.
