Shit... My backyard garden is now a crime... mailing packages into the US over 1 pound is a crime. Downloading the TV shows I miss is a crime... freaky/.... it is like a noose being tightened...

Could it be that the restriction on the weight limit of the items being sent is on shippers, not mailers? What I mean by that is that commercial shippers--FedEx, UPS, etc., have somewhat different rules than the Post Office. And it could be that the new rule applies to items being shipped by entities other than the USPS. I don't know, just considering the possibility.
