I would! I'd love to hear ANYONE sing the Messiah [except myself:}]. I just came back from a Christmas party with some old friends, so between that and this video, it's been a pretty nice day for me, considering.

This video appears to have gone viral. There have been about 250,000 hits since I went out the door to the party, and the comments are still coming in.

I was fortunate to catch the following from one of the singers, in case anyone was wondering, as I was:

"cinellis52. ..As a member of the chorus in this video, I can tell you that it was completely live - nothing 'piped in'. The woman you see at the keyboard in the beginning was our live and very accomplished accompanist. Just thought you might like to know. It was truely a thrill to be a part of this."

It was a thrill for me to stumble on it. As bleak as it gets, I'll just think on this video, and be comforted that Christ is King, and He's in full control of the situation, and He will accomplish this:

Yes, I loved the children's expressions, too, but then I loved most ALL of the people's expressions. I must have watched it ten times already...I haven't gotten tired of it, or gotten over the thrill of it. This is one of the most uplifting things I've seen in a long time.

I think I must have about 4 different versions of The Messiah on CD. My favorite is the London Philharmonic Production.

That's one nice thing about this time of year - I get to play all my Christmas CD's. I added one new the other day of Celtic Christmas tunes. I also have a nice triple CD set of with some Bach for Chrismas, The Nutcracker, and of course The Messiah. Although as a fan of early music I have a fair selection of Chant as well as 14th and 15th century music. A lot of the early music has religious themes. Very spiritual and good to think and meditate to.
