I love gun porn.

I'm doing better with that than with the market.

Like milsurp conversions? I love old bolt actions. I like the feel of teak and walnut. Here's a Paul Jaeger conversion of an 1891 Argie. $5,895.00 takes it at GA. I don't really fancy guns that I would never take into the field, but I admire the workmanship on the steel and stock. I handled one of these Jaeger Mauser conversions at a gun show last year. Amazing balance. These guns were great when they were made, and the rebarrells are a work of art. I think the seller was going to have a heart attack before I set it back down in the case. He should have put up a "DON'T TOUCH" sign.

Yes the European craftsmanship, especially some of the shotguns, are truly works of art in their own right.

I have only traded for a very, very, few tools that I would not take into the field.

I'm not a collector.

I'm too poor for that hobby.

If I can't shoot it, I don't need it.

I'll second that. I hunt with everything I've got except my shotguns that I only shoot clay with.

If I had a lot of spare dough, I would collect some American craftsmanship like this honest-to-god WWII Garand sniper set up. Note the beefy leather cheekpiece. Guess that's there as a offest for the required sidemount scope. I might give my eye teeth to own a weapon like this one.

Man!

That's a pretty all right.

Keep putting all the change in a coffee can, and picking up the aluminum cans (like I am) and soon enough, you'll have one.

Purchases for the future are ammo, storable food, and some heirloom seeds...also I'm making sure that my brother and his family have plenty of the same.
