NATO Air Strike Destroys Afghan School, Kills 30 ‘Suspects’ Governor Terms Bombing of School 'Accident' by Jason Ditz, December 14, 2010 Email This | Print This | Share This | Antiwar Forum In a series of air strikes launched yesterday in the Baghlan Province in northern Afghanistan, the NATO forces destroyed a public school as well as killing 30 “suspected Taliban militants,” according to the provincial governor. The governor termed the attack on the school an “accident,” and so far there have been no reports of civilian casualties from that particular attack. The identies of the 30 slain in the other strikes have yet to be announced, beyond their being “suspects.” NATO and the Afghan government have been struggling with a growing Taliban presence in the province over the past several year. Baghlan, as with much of the rest of northeastern Afghanistan, had virtually no Taliban presence ahead of the 2001 US invasion. NATO also has yet to discuss the attack on the school or to provide any sort of explanation as to how the apparent accident happened. The destruction of the school will likely fuel more public opposition to the war effort.

Accident? If it were a ground pounding grunt, he would be in the brig, for murder. But, hey accidents are often made by no name people, right? Under the carpet it goes.

Mid and hi level military are good at covering their own ass. Goes with the job. If some private standing around cannot be blamed and jailed, make it an accident. Took care of that.

Has any reporter in the nation asked Obama, as they did Bush, why the eff we're still in Afghanistan, and if not, can anyone offer a reason why?
You don't really want to hear that blah-blah do you this early in the morning?? You know you're going to be served the same old soup of shopworn clatter they've been serving up for ever: national commitment . . . our allies . . . our national security . . . regional stability . . . etc., etc. This country is like a town with just one diner. If you don't like their slop, you can hit the road, Jack. And then there are the hobgoblins that must be caged, defeated, incinerated, what have you: Taliban, Qaeda, sanctuaries, terrorists, you know the drill. Boy Wonder can ring the alarm bells with at least as much practiced conviction as Boy Jorge, if not more so. I don't wanna hear it. It's one of the reasons that that I killed the TEE BEE. I don't know where this war is going, but if establishment conservatives like George Will begin saying things like "this will not end well," you know that we are closer to the end than the beginning.
