The German daily claims that according to the agreement, Iranian Shahab 3 (range 1300-1500 km), Scud-B (285-330 km) and Scud-C (300, 500 and 700 km) will be deployed in the proposed base. It says that Iran also pledged to help Venezuela in rocket technology expertise, including intensive training of officers
It's about 2200 km from Caracas to Miami. The distance to Maracaibo is a little less: about 1900 km. The Shahab 3 has a variant that takes it out to 2000 km.
They are going to rattle some chains in the Pentagon with this. Needless to say, these are not positive developments. The volume in the threat level echo chamber goes up with every move like this, and all the crazies at home are going to be militating for action.
