Whether or not you are a country music fan, these are truly the words of a deep thinker, and a highly intelligent person. So simple, yet so profound! Read the words of wisdom from that famous philosopher Willie Nelson, iconic country and western singer, on his 75th birthday below his esteemed portrait. Only a man with such wisdom and maturity could be so concise and succinct in phrasing his feelings at this turning point in his life.

"I have outlived my pecker."

The Penis Poem

My nookie days are over,
My pilot light is out.
What used to be my sex appeal,
Is now my water spout.
Time was when, on its own accord,
From my trousers it would spring.
But now I've got a full time job,
To find the f***in' thing.
It used to be embarrassing,
The way it would behave.
For every single morning,
It would stand and watch me shave.
Now as old age approaches,
It sure gives me the blues.
To see it hang its little head,
And watch me tie my shoes!!

"I have outlived my pecker."

To have lived 75 years, and come away with little more than the foregoing poem and his statement, "I have outlived my pecker", is proof the guy has overstayed his welcome.

It is, however, profound that, after 75 years, he has so little wisdom to share!!!

It's sad seeing a generation of performers that a lot of folks have come to look up to turn into addled caricatures of themselves as they age.

Anyone that you still admire, Phant?

Don't know how old you are, but it is never too late to start sharing whatever wisdom you might have.

Democrats don't mind war as long as they can have big government. Republicans don't mind big government as long as they can have war.
If you believe in small government, then you shouldn't be in the White House.

With the layers and layers of truly sickening snooze I'm hit with on a daily basis, a small dose of levity, for me at least, a health tonic :)

Randge:

The only "performers" I still admire are those whom the elite call "the hard working stiffs" of America. The men/women who expound the time and energy to take care of him/herself and their own is a remarkable individual.

To think that, in these times of uncertainty and irrationality, to continue to attempt to be self-sufficient is, in itself, a remarkable and admirable endeavor that I HAVE to acknowledge. Why? Because it would be so much easier to give up!

PnbC:

I am SOOOOO old (73 on the 26th) that any sharing on my part has to necessarily rely on my success at pulling information from the bowels of my memory!!! hehehehe

JT:

I, too, find "levity" to serve as "a health tonic"! However, I speculate it takes more than just "a small dose" to see an obvious change in me to "the layers and layers of truly sickening snooze" we are both "hit with on a daily basis". I hope and pray we all soon experience a respite from all the craziness.

Well, you can always migrate to the south again (BEFORE you forget your name). However, you better head straight for the Carolinas and forget that damned bathhouse that Jethro invited you to!

LOL!

Solutions for Ireland. Say NO to the IMF/World bank. Default on our debt. Print our own debt free currency. Nationalise the trillion euros worth of gas and oil off our west coast. Take back our fishing (200 billion worth). Get our farmers growing again. Done deal if our politicians had the backbone. ~ Jim Corr
