Karen Armstrong in his latest book The Case for God explores the relation (focusing especially on Christianity) between the Divine Authority known as Allah, God, Brahman, Nirvana or Dao and the understanding of Him in the past and the modern era of Enlightenment and the Democratic Societies. Karen Armstrong is definitely the most renowned author on religious matters. She has authored 12 books and biographies on Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Budhhism. Born in a British Catholic family on November 14, 1944, Karen became a Nun at the age of 17, but left the Church after seven years. She studied at Oxford where she wrote her doctoral thesis which was rejected by an external examiner. Currently she teaches Christianity at London’s Leo Baeck College for the Study of Judaism. Karen Armstrong never had a smooth ride with the Zionist mafia. After the screening of PBS documentary, ‘Muhammad: Legacy of Prophet’ in 2002 (watch video below) and her interview with PBS – Jewish Islamophobe Daniel Pipes on his website posted (December 23, 2002) an e-mail of his fan – calling Karen Armstrong: “This woman belongs on a psychiatrist’s coach, not in a “starring” role in a major documentary funded by American taxpayer”. This is the same idiot who defends the Israelis’ right to receive US$3 billion annual military aid funded by the American taxpayers. In 2006, Karen blasted Pope Benedict XVI for his bigotary and hatred toward the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) while reminding the Pope that “some of the first Christian Crusaders began their journey to the Holy Land by massacring the Jewish communities along the Rhine valley; expulsion of Jews from almost every European Christian country; persecutions and inquisitions and, under Pope Pius XII, tacitly condoned the Nazi Holocaust”. “The trouble is that too many people in the western world unconsciously share this prejudice, convinced that Islam and the Qur’an are addicted to violence,” Karen wrote in Guardian, September 18, 2006. After listening to Pope Benedict XVI’s anti-Islam rant – American Catholic writer, blogger and women-rights activist, Joanna Francis, called him Zionist Double Agent. The TIME magazine published Karen Armstrong’s article tiled “Islam, A Short History” (April 16, 2001) in which she wrote: “Islam’s great Caliph Omar Ibn Al Khatab gave Islam’s teachings a practical shape by showing justice and manifesting respect for other faiths. When Caliph Omar conquered Jerusalem from Christian Byzantines in 638, he insisted that the three faiths of Abraham coexist. He refused to pray in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher when he was escorted around the city by the Greek Orthodox Patriarch. Had he done so, he explained, the Muslims would have wanted to build a mosque there to commemorate the first Islamic prayer in Jerusalem. The Jews found their new Muslim rulers far more congenial than the Byzantines. The Christians had never allowed the Jews to reside permanently in the city, whereas Omar invited 70 Jewish families back. The Byzantines had left the Temple Mount in ruins and had even begun to use the Temple Mount as a garbage dump. Omar, according to a variety of accounts, was horrified to see this desecration. He helped clear it with his own hands, reconstructed the platform and built a simple wooden mosque on the Southern end, site of the al-Aqsa Mosque today”. watch video at end of source
