It seems that, in response to this, a multi-pronged action is called for. 1) Every LEO involved in this needs to become a defendant in a civil rights suit. 2) Any existing police oversight committee needs to be forced to act against this abuse. 3) Groups of vigilant men and women should be formed in order to ensure that future events such as this are not allowed to occur without proper and appropriate reactions. It should be kept in mind that the LEO's involved here are just dumb, abusive sheep themselves. The framework in which they are allowed the latitude to conduct these abuses needs to be remodeled. Those who seek to prevent the "remodeling" are the ones who need to be dealt with directly.

Fear is the greatest enemy. With the possible exception of Mike Tyson, no fighter has KOed someone without taking a few shots themselves. Many municipalities are facing budget crunches now. They have soft spots everywhere. Pick a few and just keep hitting - even when they hit back.
