Our ancesters regularly obtained morphine, cocaine, peyote, and other mind- altering herbs or drugs without any regulations. They did not seem to develop significant dependancy issues, but were able to self-medicate severe pain and terminal illnesses without interference.

The only war on drugs to-day is that there should not be any drugs other than patentable-for-profit-pharmeceuticals for the benefit of the drug corporations.
