The Corporation

I purchased this film based on the recommendation of Amazon and my previous purchases.

I watched it tonight and was forced to imbibe a little. So excuse the lack of full lucidity on my part. But..... It was a extremely "on the mark film" for the most part and well within the bounds of a high recommendation on my part.

The Corporation is very well done and covers much of what we see as a problem in our current world and goes into detail about the causes and symptoms of where we are headed. Truly well done in many respects.

The guests, like Milton Friedman and others is par excellence and very eye opening. It covers things in great and appeasing detail, but yet in the end it makes one wonder....."is this just another attempt by the PTB to appease those of us on the fringe that everything will be alright?

Fore, in the last 20 minutes of the film it really slathers on the BS of how we can make a difference and how we have in several situations abroad where common citizens made a difference.

My internal BS meter pegged during the last 20 minutes or so.

Of course that stuff was left for the last 20 minutes for a reason.

It's like the MSM news reports. The last stories are usually fluff pieces or part of as agenda. They know most people only remember the last few minutes of what they watch and that's what leaves an impression. They want you to forgot about what was previously shown.

That could very well be an excellent movie. But the last 20 minutes is the crux of the message that they are trying to plant into one's mind.

Thanks for the insight and the reinforcement of my cynical view of the film. :P

I clicked on the url and it came up unable to find that web site.

But I too think we really got off on the wrong track in empowering corporations and making them superior in fact to citizens. You know a corporation will have special laws just for corporations that don't apply to individual owned businesses that in essence subsidize the corporations, making it much easier to raise money, making the tax rate lower, etc. Why are businesses owned by corporations and businesses owned by individuals treated equal it seems would be a good question.

Two hundred years ago corporations were regulated tightly, today they run rough-shod over us citizens.

That's what the video shows. Very astute of you. You would enjoy it as many of us would......

I've long felt that either nations were going to abolish corporations, or corporations were going to abolish nations. At this point it's looking like corporations are going to win.

Of course; Corporations have more assets.
