Yes, those were the days. Guys knew how to fix those cars. Parts were available at the local car wreckers yard. They could keep an old jalopy going for years, until the nasty safety standards legislation took them off the road and built in obsolescence became the name of the game.
I recall how shocked I was when I first learned the meaning of "planned obsolescence" Talk about naive :)

Reminds me of my old 74 Cougar LtdII 2 door 351 Windsor. Made in Windsor instead of Detroit. My beer drinking buddies and I painted it all black. I mean ALL black. Everything except the glass and the lights were flat black. Someone said I had Satan locked up in the trunk. Lmao. *Note to self: Do NOT search for "1974 Cougar Black" with -Safe Search Off- again...
Wow they do look similar. my dad had a 67 cougar. loved that car. I'd buy one today if I could. tail lights are hard to come by though.

LOL yeah it is not the lights it is the mechanism that made the sequential flashing though i see they have an LED version.

I don't think so. I remember something about it being difficult to get them to do that if it broke etc. I don't know. It has been too many years and I was young.
A fun thread to re-read. We do love our rides here. None of that wussie mass-transit stuff for us.
