This is how I got my nickname, critter. My last name, Crispino, inspired my friends to call me crispy critter when I was a young lad. They eventually shortened it to "the critter". It stuck.

I had a Tony the Tiger cereal spoon when I was a kid.

I have no idea what happened to it, but I miss it.

"If ever this vast country is brought under a single government, it will be one of the most extensive corruption, indifferent and incapable of a wholesome care over so wide a spread of surface. This will not be borne, and you will have to choose between reform and revolution. If I know the spirit of this country, the one or the other is inevitable." - Thomas Jefferson

My mom NEVER bought any kiddie cereal......nothing a kid would like too much. She knew that the lot of us would snarf it down in an hour if she did. So, it was always shredded wheat or puffed rice without any sugar for us and it lasted the duration between trips to the grocery store.

Lucky you. Mine got us whatever we wanted. Of course we always wanted sugar this or frosted that. Cap'n Crunch was a good one too.

I came from a large family with small income, six of us had to fight for a piece of bacon hung from the ceiling with twine. if it looked like one of us were going to get a good bite my dad would kick the chair out from under us.
