Tried the site and it appears that there are no DNS records point to it. Google cache doesn't even turn up anything either.

It is just me, or has it been taken down?

Er, the title should say "taken" not "taking".

You aren't missing anything. Just LP's local law enforcement official, GrandIsland, trying to intimidate anyone who disagrees with his big government worshiping statism.

Just for you I have initiated four attempts to access LibertyPost through five different routers using international country servers: France, Germany, Taiwan and Russia besides California.

504 Connect to www.libertypost.org:80 failed: SOCKS error: host unreachable

The following error occurred while trying to access http://www.libertypost.org/cgi-bin/latestcomments.cgi:

Is all I find which is an unusual time delay or timeout error.

But why would you want to see yukon's posts? Every other post is either to yukon or initiated by yukon. He isn't that interesting, IMO.

Actually I have many monikers and sometimes post on LP. And yes, I post on LF once in awhile especially when I see that yapping dawg; it is amazing it can type to me. But, if you ever notice my frequency of posting it is not often.

I go to many conservative websites, too. I am looking for data that I may not find elsewhere; sometimes people find good articles and create good contributions.

IDK about that, he's always told me that he doesn't like his dept. and hates the corruption.

I agree. Politically, GI does have an ax to grind with conspiracy nuts and any third-party bunch (like the Ron Paul folk), apparently because he thinks they have the potential to derail a 2012 GOP nominee. It's not hard to see why a NY GOP voter would feel that way, given the way NY puts so many party slots on the ballot and how often that works to split GOP voters and defeat GOP candidates in that state.

He makes some excellent posts at LP when yucky isn't egging him on.

Though you never know for sure on the interwebs, his comments seems far closer to a career peace officer that you find in many small-to-medium towns anywhere in the States than to a JBT if you survey his posts over time. Of course, we all have our moments when posting on the interwebs thingy.

Here's a thread with some good posts GI made over the surge in Glock sales after the Tuscon shooting. I saw nothing there other than an experienced professional police officer who thinks of guns in terms of deployment/training/effectiveness for those he supervises. GI's posts are also good on the distinctions between the politics of western/northern NY and very liberal NYC.

GI also surprised some on a thread recently where a CA prosecutor is trying to prosecute two robbers who shot a cop and put him in a wheelchair thirty years ago. The cop finally died and the D.A. is trying to charge them with murder (even though the cause of death was actually infection from untreated bedsores, a common cause of death for folks in wheelchairs). The two robbers had been sentenced to 10 and to 18 years (the shooter got 18) but then the state parole board let him out after something like 12. The disabled cop was understandably a little bitter at this. When we decided to flag GI to see what a LEO thought about it, he said they had already been punished for attempted murder and should not be prosecuted again. This is what I mean when I say that GI isn't a JBT type though he obviously isn't soft on crime at all.

I disagree. He's a typical liberal big government Republican who equates authoritarianism with conservatism. He's a Rudy Giuliani wannabe who would put a bullet in the head of your children if the government ordered him to do so. He is 100% loyal to the government and has no respect or loyalty to the people in his town who pay his wages.

Sorry, I don't just get that attitude from his posts. But who can tell over the interwebs. For all we know, he's a 12-year-old online police impersonator who's laughing his ass off at all the people he fooled into thinking he's a cop. But I think he probably is a cop.

Like him or not, GI is probably about as conservative as any NYer can possibly be. In NY, he's pretty much the far Right but in ID or WY he'd be more like your average semi-squishy NRA type who likes to hunt and votes Republican in presidential elections.

NY is like TX in that they have very strong regional culture and political outlook. You can curse it but they are as they are and don't change quickly.

He's just one of a number of posters who collaborated with yucky and his Olympics-level effrontery. The catcalls and ad hominems did a lot to wreck a forum that I go to from time to time to pick up on interesting stories and get reactions and opinion somewhat out of the mainstream.
