Pious Perverts See other Pious Perverts Articles Title: Why aren't "gun-free dining" women in the kitchen where they belong? A quick game of fill in the blank: "male chauvinist ___!" That's right. Pig. I can imagine that funny phrase from the 70's being applied to the headline above. However, the truth is that the only 'pig' here is the one that is not legally obligated to protect you, or anyone, when you call 911. If you've never heard this fact, it will behoove you to do some quick research. The Supreme Court of the United States has already ruled on this matter. In so many cases, people have called 911 begging for help and for whatever reason, the police fail to show up. The person then either gets brutally assaulted, raped, robbed, or killed. The victim or their surviving family member then sues the police department for failing to act, and nearly every single time, the police department and their lawyers argue in court that they have absolutely no legal obligation to protect citizens or to prevent harm from coming to them. This is not merely a claim I am making- this is a fact, and it's what the police themselves insist in court, usually successfully. Take a quick gander at a myriad of these cases in CALIFORNIA DREAMING: Police have no obligation to protect any individual from harm. In 2006, The New York Times ran the story Justices Rule Police Do Not Have a Constitutional Duty to Protect Someone, outling the Supreme Court case. For those who believe that police are their trustworthy benefactors, check out the case from Huntington Beach, California: POLICE ADMIT PLANTING GUNS AND DRUGS IN CARS, LAUGH ABOUT IT. The ladies over at the 'Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence' are urging everyone to 'Demand Gun-Free Dining in California!' The group whines "The CA 'Open Carry' members are meeting at local restaurants with unloaded, semi-automatic pistols holstered to their belts and live ammunition magazine clips readily available.Restaurant owners have private property rights which allow them to ban guns and other weapons on their premises. Families should be able to dine in peace wtihout being subjected to second-hand smoke or second-hand crossfire! Socially responsible restaurant owners are establishing gun-free policies to protect the community." ...The ladies over at the Brady campaign should realize that disarming the citizens of our state will do nothing to keep them and their communities safer; matter of fact, it will do precisely the opposite, as outlined in the book More Guns Less Crime by John R. Lott Jr. People carrying guns openly on their hip does not endanger anyone. A California Democrat has proposed banning open carry in the state, in the aftermath of the Tuscon shootings. Several law enforcement agencies have embraced the idea, eager to use any excuse to restrict the God-given rights of residents. You can read about those people in the stories below. With the coming economic collapse with 25 to 30 percent of the people unemployed and desperate, perhaps a bunch of the Brady bunch will die as the desperate people break in to steal and perhaps kill to keep from being identified.
