Is this the diet thread?

OK, I had two whoppers, baked chicken, mounds candy bars, crackers, bread, sweet potatoes, and a piece of birthday cake today. It was a low calorie day. :)

Yesterday I had 3 whoppers and a buck double, and for dessert I had HagenDas chocolate ice-cream with chocolate chips plus a piece of cake.

And believe it or not, I am not overweight.

God is always good!

Oh, I believe it. I bet you wouldn't eat those Whoppers though if you knew what went in to the hamburger. Try looking up "Pink Slime". It is a filler made from waste beef that is pulverized, liquified, has ammonia added to kill the e-coli, frozen, and then mixed into regular hamburger as a "stretcher" and to cut costs. Burker King, McDonalds, and Taco Bell all use it. I would guess most of the other major chains do as well. Even the guys at the USDA are disgusted that they are allowed to use it and still call it "hamburger". It is also mixed into a lot of the bulk pack hamburger in the Grocery Store. Anymore I buy my hamburger from a small local family operated meat market that grinds it there.

I just had them because they were on sale, 2 for $3 yesterday. And today I used a buy one get one free coupon. I suppose the "waste beef" is mostly fat which would help account for the high fat content of a whopper. They are corn fed also which makes the beef fatter, and to make it worse they are fed genetically engineered corn. I know it is far from the best beef, but I am poor and just eat what I can afford.

God is always good!

I hear you. I'm not exactly rolling in dough myself, but I am a decent cook and so have learned how to make do with what I can afford and still eat well. I rarely eat out since I can eat better on the same money if I make it myself. It just takes confronting it and planning ahead.

The reason you aren't overweight is you eat so damned much food and garbage you lose weight carrying it around. Better watch out for ticker problems and plugged arteries down the road.

Yes, I really don't know much about them, but we're going to Mexico for a month, maybe, in March and we wanted to have something to use there for Spanish lessons and taking photos and the like.

I thought some here may have an informed opinion on these devices, but ya never know which way the thread will blow.

My mom was from New Mexico - I grew up on the shit. What most people consider hot I consider medium to mild. I find I have gone the opposite and toned down the spices a bit.

For a nice side try grilled Jalapenos. Cut them in half, seed them, and then coat them in Olive Oil and grill over Mesquite until you see them turning dark brown to black in places. Yum!

The 6oz package says from the Makers of Martha White, Gladiola, Mexican Style Cornbread Mix, made with Jalapeno Peppers.

First time to notice the JP claim, but they're not enough for my taste.

Also, check out mezzetta.com/jalapenopepper/ tamed jalepenos - I've not found them locally, but my brother says they are wonderful.
