Very cute rip-off. Other bits of it are available via Google Video but, apparently, not the whole film and not the part that follows this part.

I poked around various mentions of it on the internet and, while it is immediately identified and identifiable as an unimaginative (and third-rate) rip of William Peter Blatty's Exorcist (without giving him or Friedkin the tiniest on-screen credit), none of the commentaries makes clear the RELIGION of the exorcist. He doesn't wear a clerical collar or visible cross, the brief glimpse of his holy book doesn't show if it's Arabic (starting on the rightmost page) or Latin (on the leftmost), in the very brief ritual scenes I saw, a mention of God (the soundtrack sounded like "Allah", which SOME - not all - Moslem countries forbid Christians to use) but not of Christ nor of any Christian practice such as the Sign of the Cross. Maybe someone who knows this film can tell us about the religious character of the Turkish exorcist.

Another hokey exorcism scene (after Friedkin's, weren't they ALL hokey??) was in AMITYVILLE II (1982 - that's 9 years after Friedkin), in which James Olson plays a PROTESTANT minister trying to exorcise a building, without a prayerbook and evidently adlibbing a sophomoric recollection of the Catholic ritual.
