Actually ... I didn't hear Bush say this. I'm just trying to anticipate his next move.

I heard you'll go blind if you follow the Rove/Cheney story.

I've already said too much.

I heard that if you pay attention to the Plamegate Indictments the terrorists will cut your head off and put a film of it on the internet.

Actually, I expect these guys to start behaving like cornered rats. Go read LP and FR, their boosters are already acting this way. I half expect to see some sort of terrorist attack as the Monday or Tuesday indictment date draws near. Maybe a bomb on a subway or in a church somewhere. The spin machine will then go into overdrive about how we should not handicap the President during times of war.

Most Americans won't realize that Al Qaeda has nothing to gain from such an attack. They are best served by sitting on their hands and letting the Bush gang send itself down in flames. Things are going fine for them right now, why would they want to provoke the Americans into a spirited retaliation?

When the attack comes, everyone should ask: Who benefits?

A couple of bots on LP accused me of being a traitor and defeatist for saying I thought Abbas and Shaath were more trustworthy than Scott McClellan on whether Bush said he attacked Iraq because God told him to.

The White House has dismissed as "absurd" allegations made in a BBC TV series that President Bush claimed God told him to invade Iraq. "He's never made such comments," White House spokesman Scott McClellan said.

You probably pointed out that Scott McClellan made similar denials regarding Rove and Libby.

In the face of the terrorist threat, Bush and Cheney had to lock up our freedom to keep it safe.

I think it's going to get really nasty.

Recall that the facts were also against them before the Iraqi Invasion. Recall the intimidation campaign to silence debate and discussion on this subject. Organized demonization campaigns and threats to keep inconvenient facts out of the public eye. And here they were only protecting their pet project.

Now they are fighting for their lives, and maybe for the life of their party.

I wouldn't be surprised to see an "incident" that would justify a campaign to silence those who "weakened the President during times of war". The line would be that the indictments and investigations could resume when the "crises passed".

I think the Bush team has it's back against the wall. The indictments could force Bush to resign. What else could he do? Sit in office for three years as the National Punching Bag? Until the word "Republican" was a dirty word? I don't think his party would let him do that.

Maybe lock us up too. At least until the "crises" passes - whenever that is.

They intimidate those with something to lose.

For example, David Frum on C-Span this a.m. arguing against Harriet Miers, said that a lot of conservatives he knew were against her, but were afraid to say anything out of fear of retaliation from the Bush admin.

But your comment in Post #10 is right on about the GOP taking action against Bush if their survival is at stake.

I've already said too much.
