Probably about 75-80 degrees here, sunny & blue skies and some white puffy clouds with birds singing outside the completely open window.

ceviche pescado

I don't like ceviche. Except for shimp coctail and maybe oysters when feeling adventurous, I prefer seafood hot and/or spicy.

You might want to listen to Rense tonight - he's doing a special on all of heath adverse health effects arising from the Oilpocalypse and the use of the highly toxic Corexit. It will run from 7-10 PST, 9-1 CST, and 10-2 EST. It repeats tomorrow morning at 11-1 EST.

Oh, no, Jethro, you'll love it. It's great.

Wave two is just starting here in FTW. They backed off the blizzard warning to 5pm today through 7pm Wedneday. Guess they didn't want the serfs leaving work early.

I'm still not real clear why they had to wake me up with their weather radio alarm before 5am to let me know there was a blizzard warning scheduled for 1pm. Probably, just because they can. It must be a government thing.

Springfield, MO is about 20 degrees with high winds and has been snowing non-stop since early this morning. If I had to guess I'd say we have about 8 inches of snow.

We've had quite an interesting day here in Indianapolis. A freezing rain/sleet mixture overnight left us with a magnificent coating of ice on all outdoor surfaces, be they roads, cars, power lines, feral cats...you name it.

It's not particularly cold by local standards, but it was not life affirming to spend twenty minutes this morning trying to open my car door by simultaneously pulling on the handle while trying to break the door free by whacking it with my knee. Once inside, the engine started easily enough (Praise Ford, lol) but there was stil the matter of outward visibility, which meant removing all that ice from the windows. No amount of scraping was going to accomplish this task, this called for a firmer touch. Big tonka-truck yellow combo scraper-brush in hand I set about re-creating the role of Thor in one of those goofy-ass Wagner operas, wielding my hammer against the death-grip of the ice. Ponk! I could hear it echoing off my neighbors houses. Ponk! Am I hitting it too hard, could I actually break the glass? Ponk! Damn, this seems futile. Ponk! Okay, there's a little crack. Ponk! The defroster ought to start melting some of this at some point...

And so it went, but I eventually made my way into work....

Coming home, the roads were terrible, I can't understand how an inch or so of freezing rain turned into six inches of slush on the roads. Even more baffling is why certain people feel the need to use the lane which hasn't been cleared to drive right next to me rather than going single file. Not pass me, mind you, if they got a big 4 x 4 and balls to match, I say let them, but these idiots just seem to want to come alongside me and just stay there.

So that's how the weather is here love, any more questions?

"I am not one of those weak-spirited, sappy Americans who want to be liked by all the people around them. I don’t care if people hate my guts; I assume most of them do. The important question is whether they are in a position to do anything about it." - William S Burroughs

70's yesterday in Houston. 42 & falling this afternoon. We're looking at low 20s tonight and for the next several nights according to the National Weather Service.

We'll be covering up all the sensitive plants here this evening. I hope all our plants make it! Coming up is the longest stretch of freeze that I can remember. Very unusual for February.

My recommendation is to throw 5 gallons of boiling hot water on the windshield all it once. That'll do a number on it, and you won't need air conditioning in the summer. May I recommend a good brand of goggles? Although you might not need goggles if it is shatterproof glass, and all the pretty lines running through it will turn it into an artwork par excellance.
