I just got off the phone with friend living in northern New Hampshire near the Canadian border. He said that since early this morning the snow has been nearly waist high and is still falling. The temperature is dropping way below zero and the north wind is increasing to gale force. His wife has done nothing but look through the kitchen window and just stare. He says that if it gets much worse, he may have to let her in.

He says that if it gets much worse, he may have to let her in. As a letter carrier in Erie, PA during a 20 below zero day back in 1996 was most memorable. When I got to the cornr of Tenth and State street, I knew it was extremely cold because there were a few attorneys with their hands in their own pockets for a change.

Well I don't know about that. I think I see a lot of snow on his roof that needs to be taken care of first. He can do his part by handing her a snow shovel. Then he can fix himself a nice hot cup of coffee. .
