Dead Constitution See other Dead Constitution Articles Title: Tea Party candidate and member Billy Long Votes for Patriot Act and Against Liberty and Freedom Three controversial provisions of the Patriot Act were up for vote this week. 26 Tea Party Republicans voted against John Boehner and the establishment to end the Patriot Act, an act that gives the federal government great powers to spy on Americans by attacking the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments. Despite claiming to be "Tea Party before Tea Party was cool" Congressman Billy Long voted to extend the Patriot Act, a vote which totals his greatest crime as a voting legislator. (We can no longer call him a citizen legislator since he obviously doesn't have concerns for the rights of the citizens in our district.) The three provisions Long wanted to extend included the warrant-less wire taps, which Obama is pushing for and hoping to increase the power of the federal government including tracking all Americans with the cell phones through GPS without warrants. Obama argues that using a cell phone gives up an element of privacy and the federal government should be immune from law suits filed by citizens over wire tapping. It also included the government's right to seize business records using a court specially set up by the Patriot Act to bypass the Fourth Amendment, which means the federal government had to give no explanation why they were seizing these records, and the lone wolf scenario which gave the government the ability to track anyone they felt might be a terrorist, which I am sure you can see how easily that provision could be abused. Let's get back to the truth of this matter. Billy Long voted against your Constitutional rights this week. He turned from the Tea Party and ignored the pocket Constitution he describes as "rode hard and put up wet." I think what that really means is Long uses his pocket Constitution when he plays cowboy on his horse and is caught without toilet paper on the trails. That's basically the equivalent of what Long did this week, he crapped all over the Constitution. Now let's not forget, Billy Long also co-sponsored the "If You See Something Say Something Act of 2011," which grows the Department of Homeland Security and gives it more power. Remember, these are the same people groping wives and daughters as the airport. That's part of Long's legislative week in review, let's look at the rest of it: Yea on HR 514, the Patriot Act Extensions 2/8/11 Yea on S 188, to name a federal courthouse in Yuma, Arizona the "John M. And this is exactly why I refused to vote for this piece of shit buffoon. It's also what I warned would happen. Billy Long is and for years has been a Roy Blunt clone. When Blunt was writing the free meds for geezers legislation, Long praised him on his morning radio talk show. When Blunt was whoring for every piece of big government legislation being put before him when the Republicrats had control, Long was praising his "leadership."

its good to expose the rats individually like this. i take issue with the article's 1st line though. to characterize the opposition as 26 tea party repubs is innaccurate. less than 1/3 of the 27, not 26) claim any such label. 8, to be precise.
