Grocery stores are shutting down because people do not have enough money to buy food. This is not a good social indicator. The government is lying about food costs, unemployment and the recovery. If the real inflation is 5 or 6%, then the GDP is contracting in real terms ans the recession is not over.

Nothing on the shelves but they still have security. Priceless.

I left in 2009. I read that LA county has 2 1/2 million people on temporary assistance which has become permanent for the blacks and the illegals.

I lived in Silicon Valley. I saw our plant's machinery boxed in crates ready for shipment to Asia just before I left.
