I have been waiting for this movie to be released for a long time.

I wonder what would happen if they made a documentary also called the Battle For Los Angeles but about illegal aliens?

Actually the producer of the movie, which is a documentary based on actual historical footage, is a Mexican American by the name of Jose' Escamilla. I'm familiar with him from his earlier work on a different phenomena.

This is a real event, dubbed "The Battle of Los Angeles", which took place in 1942 after the onset of WWII. The object, which was quite large, was fired on by multiple anti-aircraft batteries and was attacked by Army-Airforce fighters. All of course to no avail. It even made the papers at the time, but due to wartime censorship did not receive the coverage it should have. It is still the largest mass sighting of a an unexplained flying object on record as it was seen by tens of thousands.

I think it is our particular cultural conceit that we somehow think that this little speck of sand on the edge of a galaxy made up of hundreds of millions of stars in a universe made up of hundreds of millions of galaxies is the only place where intelligent life has ever arisen. As for a star faring culture hundreds to thousands of years in advance of us technologically - why should they bother with one little dot inhabited by a bunch of primitives? We are likely viewed with little difference from our view of the tribes of the remote Amazon or New Guinea. A curiosity and little more.

Special Order 40: "Jack Dunphy", Daryl Gates, Mike Carona, Police Commission http://24ahead.com/blog/archives/004602.html

...Since 1979, when the LAPD enacted Special Order 40, police officers in Los Angeles have been prohibited from taking any action "with the objective of discovering the alien status of a person," and from detaining or arresting anyone based solely on the suspicion that he has illegally entered the country. "Undocumented alien status in itself is not a matter for police action," the policy states. "It is, therefore, incumbent on all employees of [the LAPD] to make a personal commitment to equal enforcement of the law and service to the public, regardless of alien status."

I disagree. They seem to take a keen interest in us for some reason. There are perhaps other more advanced civilizations don't, but there are obviously SOME who do...

Since I can't watch the clip, I'm on dial-up, and already have one download going, I have to ask if it is the fictionalized version or the documentary as I know there is another "Invade the Earth and Destroy L.A. Movie in the works"?

If it is the fictionalized version it is likely a PsyOp as part of the preparation for the next big excuse for continued Police State clampdowns i.e., "The War of The Worlds" which the late Werner Von Braun said was the next menu item after the "WaronTerra" lost its impact.

Either way, I still question that if there is life out there that wants to do nothing but obliterate us, then they are no better than we are, perhaps worse.

Nah, that's the PsyOp part. The real visitors have been here for some time, and based on some of apocryphal reports likely have observers already living among us. While not all of them are human, as we currently recognize it, many are and so they can blend right it. I've read a couple of reports, and heard one interview, which I regard as not well documented but credible and likely true. It is likely we are being visited by more than one culture and what the ultimate intent is, is unclear. I suspect that they are neither friendly nor unfriendly. Engineering and technology do not change human behavior and motivations. It may be that unbeknownst to us, at this time, that we are located in some sort of interstellar crossroads and so many are just passing through. It also may be that the galaxy is already very heavily populated. Data insufficient.

Perhaps. Some do seem to take an interest in us, but then anthropologists take interest in the Amazonian Natives, and the people of New Guinea. Some of the interest, based on abductee reports - my sister being one, seems to be clinical i.e., they are examining the natives.

What we don't know at this stage of the game what kinds of political calculations and considerations are influencing any of the contacts and observations. I have seen it theorized that at some point in the past we were kind of a "Botany Bay" and so the descendants of the prisoners are still under observation. That would possibly explain the multiplicity of races on the planet - different groups of "transportees" at different times. Or it may simply be that the "Prime Directive" prohibits influence on primitive cultures. However, at this point that is purely extreme speculation.

And no I haven't watched the Jerusalem video - not because I'm not interested but just that my connection is too slow.

I think at some point in our history we had direct contact with advanced beings, hence the stories of Atlantis and the Sumerian legends.

One possibility is that human beings are not originally from this planet. Perhaps there was a civilization on the doomed planet which used to exist between Mars and Jupiter which is now the asteroid belt, and the people escaped to both Mars and Earth before whatever happened to it happened. We would be their descendants.

Naturally we must all band together and "set aside our differences," with no doubt liberty being a "difference," to combine our efforts and thwart this enemy so that we can all live in the NWO happily ever after.

That's the impression I got. Could be me though. ; )

Oh, that's entirely possible. I know the "War of The Worlds/Independence Day" meme is the next big Social Control PsyOp after the phony "WaronTerra". According to the Von Braun story he, being on the inside, commented to someone, an aid or secretary or such as I recall, that this is the next big "Scary Scary" scenario to control the Sheeple. You can see the different set-ups being put in place to "prepare us" when you know what you are looking for. Slowly UFO/Alien disclosure is being leaked out and set up, and the "giggle factor" is being toned down. While NASA is still smudging ruins in photographs of the Moon and Mars a lot has been allowed out. And I, with the clarity of 20-20 hindsight, was part of one of their laboratory tests when photos of the Martian Ruins were published overseas in Stars and Stripes and the story had Military Intelligence Satellite Photo Interpreters stating that the ruins were clearly artificial. Looking back the reaction among the people around me was very interesting - "they didn't see it". Even if they read the article or saw the headline the significance totally eluded them. It did not fit with the world view they had been raised with, and as such was always treated as "Science Fiction", and so it did not compute to the point where they could not think with it, and so they ignored it.

We are in a fix right now and while I see some hopeful signs things are making me a bit nervous.

I think at some point in our history we had direct contact with advanced beings, hence the stories of Atlantis and the Sumerian legends.

The problem is, while I agree, that the ancient record is jumbled and incomplete. I do believe that we have had at least one, or more, technologically advanced culture on this planet in the distant past. The time period of Atlantis gets confused as well as they were very likely not the only technologically advanced country at the time. What I believe happened was a planet wide war, possibly involving the Moon and Mars, which reduced Mars to an uninhabitable frigid ball with little surviving atmosphere and life, and an earth returned to at least the Neolithic level. Pockets of civilization survived, Egypt was likely one of the pockets, but most of the planet was depopulated and taken down to a pre-technologic level. All the evidence seems to point at that direction. At this point it is supposition, clearly labeled as such, but I think it likely close to what actually happened.

As for the Asteroid Belt, it is entirely possible, even probable, that there was a planet there.

The evidence continues to grow for Phobos, and likely Deimos as well, being a hollowed out asteroid that was used as some sort of long duration inhabitation facility/ship. It's mass, as indicated by its orbital period, suggests as much and recent photographs, see the Enterprise Mission site of Richard Hoagland, seem to back that up.

And the NWO psychos are working as hard as they can to prevent a new era of enlightenment from arising. The filthy psychotic bastards would hold back all of mankind so that they can enjoy their illusion of exercising power. They are a very sick and despicable bunch.

Just call me, in keeping with the overall theme here at 4um, skeptical.

Oh, that's fine. There is entirely too much open credulity in the world as it is.

However, while skepticism has its place, never let it get in the way of expanding your point of view.

I feel like the comment that was attributed to Socrates: "The more I learn the more I know that I know absolutely nothing."

The more I learn the more it makes me aware of how much I do not know.

It also reminds me of a cynical quote that the Lieutenant in charge of the last place I was stationed in the service kept on his desk. While I don't recall it word for word it was to the effect that the educated man will never be as certain once as the ignorant man is ten times a day.

I have no plans to see this film. And I doubt the hollywood elitists that made this film appreciate the irony of picking L.A. as the setting for the plot of the movie.

A city invaded by criminal mexicans is then invaded by outer space aliens.

I would see that as poetic justice towards the criminals that were there beforehand.

As for a star faring culture hundreds to thousands of years in advance of us technologically - why should they bother with one little dot inhabited by a bunch of primitives? We are likely viewed with little difference from our view of the tribes of the remote Amazon or New Guinea. A curiosity and little more.

Here I must respectfully address the world-weariness implicit in this uncharacteristic halt at the door of reason. You know that I have the highest regard for your intelligence and writing skills so please allow me to shoot at the target you threw me so generously! (grin)

First, let us identify a general mind trap, of which you are undoubtedly already tuned into: The dualistic polarity game, where all concepts, perspectives and positions are strung along a linear scale or spectrum, excluding all depth in the process and ensuring that perception remains firmly inside the box of the mediaMatrix.

As a first step in understanding anything in our multi-dimensional experience, identifying the extremes, the opposite polarities of the scale which we can use to measure a phenomenon, is necessary. However, understanding will not grow if we stop with only a one dimensional measuring tool!

Most get stuck in some form of superficial duality, bouncing back and forth between the two extreme poles, such as good cop/bad cop, Rethuglicans/ Demoncrats, male/female, good vs. evil, liberals/conservatives, thinking vs. feeling etc etc etc

Even among the “educated”, most carry around an intellectual toolkit consisting of a varying number of one-dimensional conceptions, some wildly contradictory, but very few go to the effort of assembling these sticks into a 3-dimensional geometry! Especially in the new priesthood of materialistic Science, the overwhelming majority simply accept the conceptual tools they were trained to use without any attempt to see if they really hang together as a robust holistic model.

Like Edwin A. Abbott’s Flatlander’s, most people’s mastery of their creative imagination does not allow for true 4 dimensional (i.e. a coherent sequential inner-movie) simulation and recreation of the laws and patterns which underlie our reality. The capacity and control of their “pineal stage”, the “ajna center” or third eye, is woefully underdeveloped among a population constantly immersed by a fire hose stream of visual media,

The double-whammy of the mediaMatrix taking over from reading and direct experience is that the native power to imagine atrophies from disuse AND the media itself implants triggers which activate the imagination from fear. The latter causes the mind, in order to remain in ascendancy over fear’s imaginings, to snap shut the door to the imagination!

www.amazon.com/Flatland-R...ft-Editions/dp/048627263X

www.geom.uiuc.edu/~banchoff/ISR/ISR.html

www.librarything.com/author/abbottedwina

The way out of carrying around a bunch of intellectual pick up sticks, which are dumped out of our bag of thoughts and read like tea leaves or the “dice” used with the I Ching to interpret patterns, whenever we are pressed to make decisions, is to assemble a coherent geometry out of the linear concepts.

Returning to the topic of the place of earth humans in the grand scheme of things:

The multi-millennial suppression of our off-world origins works on many levels as a psychological control mechanism:
1) We are unique (feed the alter-ego)
2) We are alone (feed the fear monster)
3) We evolved by the intellectual conceit of “random” mutation from dead matter to live stew (put the alter-ego in its place)
4) We are either judged by a remote Creator or by nothing at all (disorient the understanding by ambiguity)
5) We are stuck on this singular lifeboat in a hostile-to-life universe (since there is nowhere else to go, shut up and obey those psychopaths who have taken over the life-boat or die)

These are extremes along several linear scales, which are dissonant with each other but the point is that the truth does not simply lie somewhere in the middle!

Humanity is neither an accident of “chance” nor the only creation of a remote Creator.

Truth, like life itself, is either entirely whole or it simply is not, does not exist. The Big Picture is not brought into focus or calibrated by a few static adjustments on a few linear scales but by a dynamic balance of EVERY FACT THAT COMES ALONG!

Sure it is more difficult to juggle a hundred balls than merely three, to continually balance our conceptual model (our understanding) with every new or anomalous piece of fact that comes along but that is the game! To stay continually awake, minds and hearts continuously open, to be in a never-ending process of expanding our conceptions, which expands our perceptions, bringing us more information to add to our internal ball of string.

This process is obviously not for those in a position of power or prestige, or for those who lie for a living (politicians, lawyers, doctors, teachers, corporate gamesters, establishment scientists etc) since it requires reflection in real time, something which can ruin the ability to lie with seemingly spontaneous sincerity!

No! Much easier to get your ticket stamped at the training institute of higher learning of your choice, get your place at the teat and suck away your life, reflexively deflecting away any information which might threaten your place or worse, make you question the boundaries of perception and understanding! The latter may lead to (shudder) developing a connection with the deeper/higher dimensions of your being, aka a conscience!

In a corrupt dying culture, a conscience and bullshit detector are liabilities so the choices of the majority are completely understandable from a strictly expedient perspective. However, the willful pursuit of power and control at any cost, by the psychopaths in the upper crust however, is another matter entirely! Positing that our earth’s surface culture is currently among the social and spiritual retards of the galaxy (at least!), it does NOT follow that to more advanced civilizations ours would be “little more than a curiosity”.

Before science became dominated by the corporate/government alliance, even we primitives sent people to study those remote tribes you mentioned!

So if we in our infancy (or senility) are interested in subcultures not like our own, why not advanced civilizations?

By advanced, I mean far more than mere accumulated technological mastery. I mean advancement in self-mastery, a blossoming of our full potential, a radical change from the "stuck-ness" of human nature which we are conditioned to think is immutable.

The biggest impediment to fully actualized human potential and self-mastery is the implanted meme, pervasive in all decaying cultures, that says, with presumptuous authority, that growth of consciousness and the transcendence of limitations is impossible, period and that all who pursue such a goal are fools to be pitied.

It is not that hard for social control institutions to discount, obscure and outright deny the lives and examples of all the stars and great spirits who have incarnated and contributed to true progress, since only those closest to them see these more fully-realized beings in action first hand.

IMO, the main failing in even the best speculative fiction is the cultural myopia which cannot even imagine a better human being! I don't mean better conforming nor better adjusted to the cult around them. I mean a more self-empowered being, not requiring an illusion of empowerment through the control and dis-empowerment of others!

I mean a human being using more than 15% of their neural processing power, with fully functioning intuition and telepathic channels, with a steel integrity borne of necessity due to everyone around them having a fully functioning bullshit detector. I mean a human being who has learned the truth about their nature and lives fully in balance, reason and continuing enjoyment, punctuated by challenges of their own choosing.

I understand from personal experience how difficult it is to allow our imagination to go there, since once there, there is no going back in the box, no going back into a mental prison and physical enslavement willingly....

Let us examine an analogy in human culture.

When people reach a certain age of financial independence, two trends emerge: out of boredom, their interests in the world outside their familiar comfort zone increase and the desire to extend their influence (well-meaning or not) leads them into creating foundations, charities or grants to, in their minds, lend a hand up, extend a boot strap to allow others to join them, providing that such a trend does not threaten their own status, of course!

One last point on the effects of a gap between a higher civilization and our own: Most humans have a deep instinctual interest in protecting and nurturing children, some only for their own genetic material but in most cases this extends to all potential new consciousnesses, to all children, to the future of our own civilization.

Who’s to say that civilizations that have grown past the hierarchical, dog-eat-dog, fight for survival driven by the scare crow of scarcity, that have abundance and time on their hands, would not take a very keen interest in the process of our development?

Once you posit other more advanced civilizations, you cannot stop the mind from perceiving that indeed, we are one of the hottest reality shows in the Galaxy!

“Did you see what the humans did on Human Shore last night? What comedy/tragedy! They decided to try totalitarianism again! After all our intervention and prompting, their so-called leaders still think that top-down control of the many for the benefit of the few is a viable approach! And the majority of the population still believes that big government will keep them safe, fed and well-distracted! I am looking forward to watching what happens next, when the minority who retain deep feelings about Freedom continue to try to awaken the rest!”

Sustainable? not enough to screen your intention to be free from the Talosians, who can’t read primitive emotions but know what you watch on cable/sat, read on the Internet and eat. Our ultimate weapon is laughter and amused detachment at the folly of the would-be emperors. Fear mongers HATE it when the FEAR card doesn’t work. As usual, I was releasing pent up frustration with our culture in a general rant, certainly not directed at you!

Carry on, dude.

South Park did an episode on that very topic. I found it to be most intellectually stimulating!

An alien satellite dish is placed in Cartman's butt. Shortly after, the boys are abducted by the aliens that installed it. They find out that the planet Earth is simply an intergalactic reality show. When word gets back to their home planet, the aliens decide to cancel the show. Something must be done.

While the "fear card" is a major playing card in their deck, and it's true that they hate it when it doesn't have it's desired effect when they play it, it will IMO require more than the laughter, that you suggest, to dethrone them.

Removing them will, imo, require force, because that is all they understand. Anything less leaves them in power, even if they have their feelings hurt at our laughter.

Taking credibility away is that stupid "make money online" thing.

The YouTube video I posted is just a copy of the original. There are bunches of them floating around, and this guy apparently inserted an advertisement on his copy. Didn't notice it till after I posted it, but it is a pretty high quality copy so I left it as is.

When the light flashes, all it is is that grouping of lights getting brighter. If that was caused by the craft, then the entire area would likely have been lit up.

Here's a copy that someone slowed down. You can see that the entire area around and under the object fills with light. It actually happens twice in quick succession, once at about 3:45 into the video, and again at 3:47. At 3:54 the object apparently "beams up".

Keep in mind that it was photographed by at least 4 people independent of each other.

Actually there are only 3 real ones. The guy and his friend on the balcony each filmed the object, one with a camcorder I would guess and the other with his cellphone camera. The other was filmed by another person much closer to the object and from a different angle.

The other video floating around is an obvious fake, where it is a ball of light superimposed on a still image. There is no flash and the object doesn't move except for when it "departs". It was apparently created for the TV stations to show on their news shows, only to be easily "debunked" since it is a fake.

From what I've read about the incident, a LOT of people in Jerusalem actually saw the object.

IDK, we sit here and show how 9/11 "no planes" could easily have been foisted upon us, how much more so something like this at night.

I don't believe the "no-planes" theory. Were they the actual "hijacked aircraft", who knows, but planes did in fact hit the WTC towers. As far as the Pentagon on the other hand, what hit that is anybody's guess, but it certainly wasn't a 757.

Not a problem you added substance to the thread.

I can understand being frustrated with the culture. I am frequently minded of a line out of "Sands of Kalahari". One character speaks to another commenting:

"You act as though stupidity were a virtue."

And no I didn't take your commentary personally. (It was too well thought out to call a rant.)

I find that the older I become the more charitable I become. While I am still not over fond of fools I also recognize that we live in a culture where many of the verities people have been taught as true are not. It is just that some (make that many) have been slow to figure it out.

The "we are alone and are the apex of all creation" line went out the window, for me, a long time ago. That does not mean I think we are inferior to any visitors merely because they currently have a superior technology either. Technology is developed over time and we have had a bare 2,000 years since the last collapse. That is not a very long time from a historical and developmental perspective.

However, even getting to that point of recognition requires being willing to disagree with what we have been propagandized to believe. Thankfully I had a head start thanks to a brilliant mother who already disagreed with much and passed that on to her first born. So, I mercifully grew up without being taught a lot of the assumed to be true untruths and that it was alright to disagree with the herd because you might be right and they wrong. In other words "think for yourself".

As for visitations I long ago concluded that we are being visited by likely more than one group. However, that is not real to most people and I have done a lot of reading and thinking which is not amenable to presenting in a short post so generally I don't bother.

And if there is one thing I am good at it is carrying on. ;-)

But whatsoever, after due examination and analysis, you find to be kind, conducive to the good, the benefit, the welfare of all beings - that doctrine believe and cling to, and take it as your guide.” ~ Gautama Siddhartha — The Buddha

That's a standard PsyOps tactic. It has been used a lot to try and confuse the 911 trail by planting multiple false stories and theories.

Always, for me, is what does that data say, and where did it come from?

The relationship between morality and liberty is a directly proportional one.
