Poster Comment:

I have been waiting for this movie to be released for a long time.

I wonder what would happen if they made a documentary also called the Battle For Los Angeles but about illegal aliens?

Actually the producer of the movie, which is a documentary based on actual historical footage, is a Mexican American by the name of Jose' Escamilla. I'm familiar with him from his earlier work on a different phenomena.

This is a real event, dubbed "The Battle of Los Angeles", which took place in 1942 after the onset of WWII. The object, which was quite large, was fired on by multiple anti-aircraft batteries and was attacked by Army-Airforce fighters. All of course to no avail. It even made the papers at the time, but due to wartime censorship did not receive the coverage it should have. It is still the largest mass sighting of a an unexplained flying object on record as it was seen by tens of thousands.

I think it is our particular cultural conceit that we somehow think that this little speck of sand on the edge of a galaxy made up of hundreds of millions of stars in a universe made up of hundreds of millions of galaxies is the only place where intelligent life has ever arisen. As for a star faring culture hundreds to thousands of years in advance of us technologically - why should they bother with one little dot inhabited by a bunch of primitives? We are likely viewed with little difference from our view of the tribes of the remote Amazon or New Guinea. A curiosity and little more.

I disagree. They seem to take a keen interest in us for some reason. There are perhaps other more advanced civilizations don't, but there are obviously SOME who do...

Have you seen this vid yet?

Perhaps. Some do seem to take an interest in us, but then anthropologists take interest in the Amazonian Natives, and the people of New Guinea. Some of the interest, based on abductee reports - my sister being one, seems to be clinical i.e., they are examining the natives.

What we don't know at this stage of the game what kinds of political calculations and considerations are influencing any of the contacts and observations. I have seen it theorized that at some point in the past we were kind of a "Botany Bay" and so the descendants of the prisoners are still under observation. That would possibly explain the multiplicity of races on the planet - different groups of "transportees" at different times. Or it may simply be that the "Prime Directive" prohibits influence on primitive cultures. However, at this point that is purely extreme speculation.

And no I haven't watched the Jerusalem video - not because I'm not interested but just that my connection is too slow.

I think at some point in our history we had direct contact with advanced beings, hence the stories of Atlantis and the Sumerian legends.

One possibility is that human beings are not originally from this planet. Perhaps there was a civilization on the doomed planet which used to exist between Mars and Jupiter which is now the asteroid belt, and the people escaped to both Mars and Earth before whatever happened to it happened. We would be their descendants.

The problem is, while I agree, that the ancient record is jumbled and incomplete. I do believe that we have had at least one, or more, technologically advanced culture on this planet in the distant past. The time period of Atlantis gets confused as well as they were very likely not the only technologically advanced country at the time. What I believe happened was a planet wide war, possibly involving the Moon and Mars, which reduced Mars to an uninhabitable frigid ball with little surviving atmosphere and life, and an earth returned to at least the Neolithic level. Pockets of civilization survived, Egypt was likely one of the pockets, but most of the planet was depopulated and taken down to a pre-technologic level. All the evidence seems to point at that direction. At this point it is supposition, clearly labeled as such, but I think it likely close to what actually happened.

As for the Asteroid Belt, it is entirely possible, even probable, that there was a planet there.

The evidence continues to grow for Phobos, and likely Deimos as well, being a hollowed out asteroid that was used as some sort of long duration inhabitation facility/ship. It's mass, as indicated by its orbital period, suggests as much and recent photographs, see the Enterprise Mission site of Richard Hoagland, seem to back that up.

I posted my reply above before reading the rest of the thread; my bad! Forgive my grabbing a solo, so to speak, out of context.

As usual, I was releasing pent up frustration with our culture in a general rant, certainly not directed at you!

Carry on, dude.
