Charlie Sheen Ignites ABC-NBC News War

Charlie Sheen ignited a news war over the weekend by giving ABC News an exclusive interview about his recent meltdown--only to turn around and talk to NBC News too. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC is "apoplectic" over the situation.

ABC had touted its interview with Sheen as an exclusive, putting together a special edition of "20/20" that is set to air Tuesday and promising to run clips from the interview across all its news programs over a two-day period. It was, as they say, a major "get" for the network.

Unfortunately for ABC, Sheen then gave an interview to NBC News on Sunday. NBC quickly trumpeted the news, calling the chat Sheen's "first television sit-down" since his most recent round of troubles and saying it would air on Monday's "Today" show. That left ABC scrambling; the network promoted the interview during the Oscar telecast on Sunday night and told THR that the important thing was that Sheen talked to ABC first.

"Charlie Sheen assured us that we would be the only sit-down television interview this weekend, but he changed his mind," an ABC News spokesperson said.

For its part, NBC News couldn't be happier. "This was simply about hustle and hard work by our reporter Jeff Rossen," "Today" executive producer Jim Bell told the Los Angeles Times. "It's a terrific get. Does spoiling the ABC 'exclusive' make it a little sweeter? You bet it does."

The relationship between morality and liberty is a directly proportional one.

I have no idea what's going on with Sheen, but the fact that this is "big news" says a lot about the state of morality in our country and therefore the pending and imminent moral/societal collapse.

I feel like I know what's going on with Sheen because I did the same thing with my earlier years. I made more money than my pea-brain could handle maturely and spent a lot of it on stuff I didn't need like horses, drugs and broads.

I had to crash and burn before I began to think about what really matters and so will Charlie. And for that matter, our society will fall victim to its own immorality and decadence. I feel sorry for Sheen because he's probably a pretty good guy that's got enough money to buy his way out of most problems.

He is fat so that is normal. He is either milking his "friendship" with Sheen for all it is worth, or he really feels bad about airing his rant about his boss and is trying to help him out. I personally think he is milking it for all it is worth and Sheen needs better friends.

Is is possible to not be frightened at the prospect of one's own death should/when the time comes?

Do you mean frightened now about a possible death at some unknown point in the future? Yes, it is very possible.

Just make the commitment to yourself to do whatever you have to do when that day comes, then don't think about it any more.

Only one thought can occupy the human brain at any given moment. If you don't think about dying, you can't be frightened by the prospect.

I suppose man has always feared the unknown to a certain degree. The question we may confront is when is death preferable to life ? Much of the distress being generated these days is more about uncertainty than direct conflict. People raising families are unsure of their jobs, the economy, their mortgages and war.

Many of us want to make the necessary changes to put our country back on course but don't know how or don't have time, however, in the end we don't have a choice.

We'll revolt at some point. Personally, I think the sooner the better.

There will be some losses and some will die. Right now we have the best chances for success simply because the current government still claims that we're free. This illusion of freedom will prevent the govt from doing a Ghaddafi immediately but when the freedom facade completely dissipates the game changes and it will become a fierce and dangerous time to live or die.

I couldn't agree with you more. The pressures, the uncertainty doesn't make one have very pleasant thoughts. The lomger it takes, the less the chances are we will come out of a revolt with the results we are hoping for. The longer it is delayed, the more pressure those in control exert on the people. They aren't only laughing at us, they are thumbing their noses at us.

What D.C. and Wall Street have done to destroy this country is wicked without precedent or comparison. The people in this country seem oblivious to their own welfare and that of their offspring.

Any moron can see that unemployment is ravaging the country because of the panic instigated by the derivatives debacle created by D.C. and Wall Street.

They have their shills like Beck and Limbaugh blaming the poor or the unemployed for the foreclosures and recession ... but the poor didn't remove all of the lending regulations to a point where it made more sense to make bad loans, turn them into securities, leverage them up to 100 times value and sell them as AAA Securities to unsuspecting investors.

Taxpayers should have a reasonable expectation that the government they pay for will act honorably with competence. When the exact oppositie occurs they should quit paying them. When the government starts acting in direct opposition to the people they should be arrested, tried, convicted and shot.

The U.S. Government is bankrupt and it's time to foreclose.

Your last sentence above has ended this thread. As soon as a poster mentions justice for those who are destroying this country or the word jew, the cowards clam up. Therein lies the main problem why things keep getting worse for the masses. Americans have become part and parcel to the tyranny that TPTB are handing out.

Charlie Sheen has got "fuck you!" money, he and his kids are set for life. He's the alpha dog in Hollywood right now and that unnerves the jews. Look for a criminal indictment soon on Sheen as the Jew controlled DAs shakedown his whores for testimony against him and his dealer.

You're probably right on all counts.

I wish him the best. Seems like a lot of people are speaking out against the Jews these days. Wonder what took em so long ???

Jews have never had quite the power and arrogance that they have had the last 10 years or so in America. They think they are invincible now, getting away with 9/11 and getting their Holohoax museum in DC as well as the menorah on public land but no crosses allowed. God says "pride goeth before a fall", and the Jews are ripe for quite a fall in the not too distant future. There use to be a forum called libertyforum and people there hated the Jews with a passion that I didn't understand. Now I understand them better, but as a Christian I do not hate Jews, I hate what they are doing.

God is always good!
