The purpose of this financial crisis is to take down the United States and the U.S. dollar as the stable datum of planetary finance and, in the midst of the resulting confusion, put in its place a Global Monetary Authority—a planetary financial control organization “to ensure this never happens again.”

Yes, it is by design. The problem is they are unable to take our guns away.
An armed and hungry population is a bad thing for those in power.
Also, considering the elitists want to make the nations of the world more like Egypt, Libya, and other dictatorships, the unrest in the middle east is clearly not part of their plan.
And then there is China, whom is probably setting up everyone, including the elitists, for a fall.
I don't think things are going to turn out the way those currently in power planned for.
