Hmm. Prominent Conservative Radio Hosts Planted Scripted Actors Among Callers

By Susie Madrak

beckster.jpg

Well, looky here! From the Columbia Journalism Review:

Well, here’s a shocker: Some of the people who phone in to talk radio shows (that caller with the pitch-perfect rant, provocative comment or burning question) may actually be hired actors reading from scriptsI’m not an angry listener, but I play one on radio!

Via Tablet Magazine:

If [the actor] passed the audition, he would be invited periodically to call in to various talk shows and recite various scenarios that made for interesting radio. He would never be identified as an actor, and his scenarios would never be identified as fabricated—which they always were.

“I was surprised that it seemed so open,” the actor told me in an interview. “There was really no pretense of covering it up.”

Curious, the actor did some snooping and learned that Premiere On Call was a service offered by Premiere Radio Networks, the largest syndication company in the United States and a subsidiary of Clear Channel Communications, the entertainment and advertising giant. Premiere syndicates some of the more sterling names in radio, including Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and Sean Hannity. But a great radio show depends as much on great callers as it does on great hosts: Enter Premiere On Call.

“Premiere On Call is our new custom caller service,” read the service’s website, which disappeared as this story was being reported (for a cached version of the site click here). “We supply voice talent to take/make your on-air calls, improvise your scenes or deliver your scripts. Using our simple online booking tool, specify the kind of voice you need, and we’ll get your the right person fast. Unless you request it, you won’t hear that same voice again for at least two months, ensuring the authenticity of your programming for avid listeners.”

Ensuring the authenticity of your programming… with paid, planted callers.

I said years ago that Pills Limbuggerer used fake callers. It became obvious, to me anyway, when I caught him using one who was making just exactly the point Rush wanted made but didn't want it come out of his own mouth.

The big Talk Radio Shows are no different than, and every bit as genuine as, "Professional Wrestling".

I don't listen to any of those hosts referred to in this article. However, I assume that "big Talk Radio Shows" are right-wing and/or conservative hosts. At least I don't see any referral to left wing, liberal or progressive hosts.

Could it be that those they named in the article are too successful for the liberals, left wing, progressives to endure? After all, the site itself is specifically for progressives, as noted in their future plans for the next election campaigns:

"The beginning of the process is to help recruit solid progressives in a slew of races where Republicans narrowly managed to get into office in the midst of a national discontent that wasn't kind to Democratic incumbents. You'll be able to keep abreast of developments along these lines at the three blogs that work together to keep this PAC going, Crooks and Liars, Digby's Hullabaloo and DownWithTyranny."

it is very difficult to get through to a clearchannel; type station and get unedited comments on the air without being cut off or edited in the 8 second delay. Mark Dice is an expert at this. it takes a lot of time waiting on hold, and then you have to catch the hosts, and the screeners, and the engineer, off guard.

here is one example of where i did that. they were babbling about the threat of islamic boogeymen the day of the fort hood shooting, and reiterating how 19 arabs killed 3,000 people on 9/11, etc.

After catching their guard down with discussion of 'terr'ism', I said let's not be naive abiout terrorism though, a lot of bush and reagan administration officials say that 911 was an inside job, and the government blew up the twin towers.. LOL!! *score*. it got on air to millions of people. (the station is regularly #1 in the country for ratings). the main host got very mad and said 'THAT IS STUPID'. the co-host admits 'well, that one got by', and the main host says THANKS, to some unnamed person, apparently the screener with the slow reaction. The main host then said i get the stupidest listener of the day award, though I think he was projecting, since I'm not the one who cant control my own radio show. ;-)

my call starts at 1:58. prior to that is their 2 minutes of arab fearmongering. the next caller makes reference to my call too, saying 'hi guys, i hope to improve on that'. lol. hee hee! ;-D

Opinion Maker made the SPLC Patriot List.

I jumped on the article because it represents something I already thought to be the case.

It's easy enough to cross check the reference links.

However, I used to listen to a lot of talk radio and got banned from one show for being too effective at cutting through the spin.

At the very least they are screening to get callers who are making the point they want made.

However, I have noticed too many occurences of well spoken callers making exactly the point the host wanted made.

I regard Talk Radio as Propaganda/PsyOps Radio. How else can they afford to pay Rush Limbaugh more than his program makes?

That's interesting, but not too surprising.
Talk radio is a business, and good callers can generate more calls.
We used to have some local talk shows that would cultivate callers with colorful personalities. They would call in, say something outrageous, and more people would call to respond.

OI, I used to listen to talk radio, too, until I realized it was all "for show", i.e., entertainment.

However, is there something wrong with pointing out the source of the report?

OK, so what's the alternative? Do we all listen to "Air America" or ABC for the leftists view?

I can guarantee you the DNC has shills calling talk radio all the time, just as they have them posting on the net.

Some hosts are fairly frank about show rules. Noory on CoastToCoastAm tells callers not to bash Israel. Leftist lawyer Norman Goldman on Progressive Radio has declared discussion of Israel is off limits on his drive home show, A Case Where Justice Is Reserved.

Not necessarily my only point in offering a counter is that message is not the messenger and that it is at least partially substantiated by the evidence cited.

Actaully it does.

We're at war.

We're in a war for the hearts & minds of people who've been brainwashed by the leftist MSM. I'll take Rush, Beck and yes, a few shill callers from the right, if it wakes up some dozing sheeple.

People wake up in stages, Rush & Beck have done more to wake people up than an thousand internet message boards. We lost this country incrementally and we'll get it back the same way. Unless you want to quit, putting up with imperfection is a fact of life.

The war is funded by the same interests. Divide and conquer is a nice diversion to crush our constitution and rob us blind. Do you really believe that the war of "hearts and minds" boils down to which side of the two party fraud you want to get behind?

Anybody who is still listening to Rush and Beck has yet to awaken and are easily distracted by the minutia. Where have they been for the past two decades while the wealth of this nation has been squandered, while the MIC has grown to leviathan proportions for the interests of the NWO and outsourced our entire economy? They were cheering it on, Flint. This is why they long ago lost any notion of credibility or trustworthiness, along with the rest of the MSM.

Almost by definition those who tune in to "Pills" and "Dreck" are those who are already waking up, are already more aware of some of the realities, and in time, with good information will have the house light up. It is the function of popular MSM "conservative" personalities to keep them under control by feeding them some good information and spinning it to a false conclusion.

Rush supported CAFTA, NAFTA, and SHAFTA. He spins away from the reality of 911, Waco, Ruby Ridge, OKC, etc., ....

Now I think they do inadvertently waken some people up to the point to where they see that Pills, Dreck, and Fiends are furthering the divide and planting Red Herrings to lead away from the reality. However, none of them are our friends. The people that they "wake up" were already waking up and they lead many more people to false views than wake up.

That merits a "Well Done". You can always tell when Rush has been nailed because he will then spend the next half hour talking about how wrong and how stupid the caller was.

I think these guys also share listings of caller I.D.'s between shows because on a couple of major shows I tried to get in on I was preemptorially flushed. The guy on Ollie North's old show didn't want to talk to me AT ALL.

Maybe some who tune into Dreck, but it's a small portion. I've never met a Pills listener who was awake.

Seriously, listening to a pill-popping, hypocritical, arrogant, neocon, bank-MIC whore windbag, isn't a sign of higher level cognition, awareness or conscience. I would argue that tuning in is the absence of these.

I met a co-worker recently who proudly described rush limbaugh as his idol. he initially said he's a former liberal who is now a conservative. after some conversations about 9/11 and the police state, liberty, etc. he said he had a hard time accepting the 9/11 conspiracy but that the one thing out of all of it that makes him consider it is all the blatant tyranny that resulted from it., which he never realized until my indoctrination. I gave him some dvds including loose change and freedom to fascism, which he was impressed with (patricularly ruuso's film). I then told him about alex jones (yeah i know), and he said that was his favorite new talk show host. he said that he never would have believed that anyone could change his views, but said that i changed his entire persepctive. He is a nice sincere guy, who has since left the company. Upon learning all this stuff, particularly about the federal reserve and irs, he was ready to march in the streets. (not that that would do anygood). I did mention the jews several times but he instinctually replied 'i don't agree'.

I can't speak for others but the reason I did listen, starting in the mid 90's, was I figured anyone who can annoy all those liberals can't be all bad. So, I was wrong. Still, it was entertaining for a time - from about 95 to mid 98 when the inconsistencies added up to the point that I realized beyond the shadow of a doubt that it was a rigged game. The thing about Rush is that he was mostly honest up until 98 - knowing what I know now he was simply building his credibility before the disinformation was really cranked into high gear. However, up to that point he was entertaining.

Egads, NO!!! I've never even turned Air America on. Have you? I don't think I even know any person who listens to Air America. I tuned out of network TV years ago as well because no matter the MSM channel, it's all about the BS.

I did listen to Dreck for a spell as he seemed to be promoting the constitution......but then he avoided so many basic truths, wasted odious amounts of airtime flicking crap over irrelevant celebrities, omitted key points in history etc. He soon lost credibility as I was ready to give him the benefit of the doubt about a possible turn around after the crapping on the constitution by Bush that he had previously cheered. He proved he wasn't worthy of the benefit of the doubt.

I don't think it is even troublemakers per se, but anyone who has a history of making incisive comments that are not in "the playbook".

If you listen to a lot of talk radio, which I did at one time while I was being a caregiver (I had a pocket radio and the earpiece was almost permanently attacted), you begin noticing patterns. The hardest to detect is that which is omitted completely and never even mentioned.

You will never hear a well spoken, articulate, anti-war conservative or libertarian, with very very very rare exceptions, get through as a caller. It is like they do not exist, and yet there are quite a few of them. However, you could not tell it from "conservative" talk radio.

And of course with few exceptions, and never on a major network like Klearchannel, you will never hear a coherent, articulate, 911 truth spokesman.

You could actually make up a list of the things that they will NEVER talk about.

LOL well we know reality TV is false no surprise that reality radio is false as well.

The Pentagon announced TODAY the formation of a new 500-man elite fighting unit called the United States Redneck Special Forces (USRSF) These boys will be dropped off in Afghanistan and have been given only the following facts about terrorists: 1. The season opened today. 2. There is no limit. 3. They taste just like chicken. 4. They don't like beer, pickups, country music or Jesus .... 5. They are directly responsible for the death of Dale Earnhardt. The Pentagon expects the problem in Afghanistan to be over by Friday.

LOL! I like that: "Reality Radio" with your host the Mahajunkie himself with Sean Vannity, and Michael Wiener.

If it's BS, just turn it off. Doesn't matter if the BS is red or blue.

Except that the masses are likely using MSM information as a basis for decisions at election time so you an the rest of the country are now subject to laws and policies that are adopted by those elected. Also, the phony fight between conservatives and progressives diverts attention away from Organized Jewry as it plunders the nation to prop up the illegal Israeli state.

Hmm. Prominent Conservative Radio Hosts Planted Scripted Actors Among Callers

No, really?

Just look at the planted press corps who "question" the president. This sort of thing has been going on for a LONG time.

"The real deal is this: the ‘royalty’ controlling the court, the ones with the power, the ones with the ability to make a difference, with the ability to change our course, the ones who will live in infamy if we pass the tipping points, are the captains of industry, CEOs in fossil fuel companies such as EXXON/Mobil, automobile manufacturers, utilities, all of the leaders who have placed short-term profit above the fate of the planet and the well-being of our children." - James Hansen

How is it just now coming to light? I'm glad it did, but why the delay? I'm surprised that they haven't been caught at it until now.

I like their loose usage of the word 'conservative.' Until freaks like the trio who are the subject of the story are scattered like interlopers that they are, the word conservative has no meaning to me.
