Well I think that is kinda defeatist thinking. You're not licked till you give up and what we have here is something called "A real opportunity" a way to push back a small portion of the tide of over reaching federal government. Without radical measures.

Well buddy the change starts with ourselves. Your right about talk. It is cheap. Thats why actions speak louder than words. This bill? It is a step in the right direction. One that we should not have to make considering the clear words of the constitution ...but since the federal government has gone insane apparently we have to pass these things on a state level now. Now... we could just sit here and bemoan our fates and talk on and on about how nothing is ever gonna change OR we can do something about it. As for what we should be doing? ANYTHING and everything we can. I normally take radical actions but this state legislation gives texas (and myself) an outlet to do things properly. If your Texan I would implore you to write your state senator and representatives urging them to pass Simpsons bills.

Here is my first letter I wrote. EMAIL. Hello Representative, I strongly urge you to help Representative Simpson of Longview pass HB1937. I would ask that you give him and this legislation your full support. In this day and age the federal government is overstepping its constitutional authority and we are neither safer nor freer for it. So please, I beg of you, for all our sakes, please help Simpson get this passed. Best Regards, xxxxxxxxxxxxxx If anyone wants to copy and paste or use their own words please do! The legislation has been introduced. If we put on the pressure to our representatives to pass this then it will pass. Regardless of what pretty boy Perry and his washington brothers want. Normally I too am against trying to write a congressmen for the ineffectiveness of it all. However we are not talking about federal congressrats . We are talking about my state representatives. Us texans can walk down the street and have some face time with them. They are much closer to us on a state level. That why I am for contacting them in this instance. SO if you not texan...no I would say don't even bother. As they don't represent you ..you don't have a dog in this race. But if you are texan then yes write,call,email, meet up and tell your local reps how you feel about HB1937 and HB1938.
