He gave the Chemical formula Ka for Potassium "I" for iodine. There are two forms Potassium Iodate and Potassium iodide. You wand Potassium Iodide as your body absorbs it more readily with fewer side effects. There is a new one out that is supposedly easier for your body to use called NutrioDine but I can't vouch for it from personal experience and it is expensive. Naturally occurring iodine is also found in Kelp the one used by health food junkies is Dulce which is a type of Norwegian Kelp harvest from the North Sea. I don't know how much you would have to eat though to get enough iodine.

It's not kal, it's KI (K is the symbol for potassium, and I is the symbol for iodine).

KI is the symbolic representation of the ionic compound, potassium iodide.

The suffix "ide" in iodide indicates that it is a simple ionic compound and doesn't contain oxygen.
