Title: Why is there no looting in Japan?

The landscape of parts of Japan looks like the aftermath of World War Two; no industrialised country since then has suffered such a death toll. The one tiny, tiny consolation is the extent to which it shows how humanity can rally round in times of adversity, with heroic British rescue teams joining colleagues from the US and elsewhere to fly out.

And solidarity seems especially strong in Japan itself. Perhaps even more impressive than Japan’s technological power is its social strength, with supermarkets cutting prices and vending machine owners giving out free drinks as people work together to survive. Most noticeably of all, there has been no looting, and I’m not the only one curious about this.

This is quite unusual among human cultures, and it’s unlikely it would be the case in Britain. During the 2007 floods in the West Country abandoned cars were broken into and free packs of bottled water were stolen. There was looting in Chile after the earthquake last year – so much so that troops were sent in; in New Orleans, Hurricane Katrina saw looting on a shocking scale.

Why do some cultures react to disaster by reverting to everyone for himself, but others – especially the Japanese – display altruism even in adversity?

Poster Comment:

The Japanese view themselves as one people in one nation. They still believe in honor and they don't believe in the forgiveness of Heysus. Japan is not a very diverse place, it's full of Japanese and not much else.

Correct (you racist!)

And No Christians.

Funny that the people who have the highest average IQ on Earth have rejected the path of the Carpenter from Galilee.

I heard some of them were asking if they had done something to offend God....it made me sad to hear it....I hate to say it,..I really do....I was born there....don't remember anything about it, never had any desire to go back there until now....but maybe their rejection of Christ was ultimately why they were hit.....

Lots of people are going to hate this, including you [and the Jews/Zionists think the "thee" is themselves, and they have worked for centuries to fulfill it....see The Final War For Jerusalem www.cephas-library.com/nw...ts_will_replace_ours.html ]:

Isaiah 60:12 For the nation and kingdom that will not serve "thee" shall perish; yea, [those] nations shall be utterly wasted.

I've been meaning to post this....

What About This Old Testament "Killer" God? by Dr. Lorraine Day

In the Old Testament, God takes credit for a lot of killings, including the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. He MUST be a "killer God!"

If Jesus is God, and God never changes, how can we reconcile the God of the Old Testament with Jesus of the New Testament?

Why does the Bible say God "hardened Pharaoh's heart" (Ex. 4:21) and then later it says Pharaoh "hardened his own heart" (Ex. 8:15,32)?

How can anyone say God is not a killer God when He brought the flood that killed everyone in the world except eight (Noah and his family)?

Isn't the Old Testament God the manifestation of "Justice" and Jesus of the New Testament, the manifestation of mercy?

It's a bit long, so folks might want to read the beginning....down to the part about Job, and then pick up again where it starts "Who Brought the Flood....God says HE did..." Interesting reading about HAARP and earthquakes, etc.

Moral of the story according to Dr. Day ["Cancer Doesn't Scare Me Anymore"]...we do it to ourselves ..... http://www.goodnewsaboutgod.com/studies/otkillergod.htm .....by rejecting Jesus who IS God: Isaiah 9:6, John 1]

but he also uses evil people to bring things to fruition....as here where God says HE will do it,....

Any "god" who would slaughter the innocent in his name because some mortal wouldn't grovel before him, is not "god" but a devil.

1 Samuel 8:7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them. bible.cc/1_samuel/8-7.htm

8According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee. 9Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.

10And Samuel told all the words of the LORD unto the people that asked of him a king. 11And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots. 12And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots. 13And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers. 14And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants. 15And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants. 16And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work. 17He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants. 18And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day.

19Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us; 20That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles. 21And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he rehearsed them in the ears of the LORD. 22And the LORD said to Samuel, Hearken unto their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said unto the men of Israel, Go ye every man unto his city.

In other words, we will be ruled by God, or we will be ruled by tyrants, who will kill us all day long.

What does "god" need your sheep for? Why does he need slaves?
