>Jeez, another tough day on the Costaallerga.

Got up early, about nine I guess, fried up some great bacon and Sue brewed up some Veraquez coffee we bot the nite before, and we went for a walk along the bay for a few miles to Barra de Navedid, where Hernando Cortez´z navigator, in 1541 or so built three gallons and sailed thousands of miles to the Phillipenes Islands (sic).

Bot a few Estrallas for a buck each at noon, ate some street tacos and watched the boats sail out from the bay in the near perfect climate, may have been a little too hot though, as we both got another beer and Sue had a frozen coffee drink.

As we walked through the town we came across a strange little brushy haired amimal about 5 inches high, with a long dangerous looking snout.

The nationals were used to it and it was a bebe javalina, and it was as accilmated to humans as your puppy, and as sweet, though it didn´t seem to be too thrilled to be petted.

It was as ugly as it was cute and liked to lick our toes. The owners said it would get to be several feet high and weigh a lot more than the 2 pounds it did now.

We took the local bus back to Melaque for six pesos each, about fifty cents, stopped off at Pollo Feliz, one of our fav places for somke of the tastiest chickens you willl ever have. They had a special going for:

Two full chickens, rostizado with a pile of tortillas, a bunch of fresh red salsa, grilled onions, peppers and rice, a full meal for at least six persons, or eight normally hungery folks for all of .....

$120 pesos, or ten bucks. And it was, truely, the best chicken I have had, not the grease larded KFC junko.

The three of us couldn´t finish one of them, so

$120 pesos

that is a damn good deal. But your story appears to have been cut off. did the long snouted creature bite you, or what? is it at your house & attacked you preventing you from finishing the story??

You ever wander into Yelapa?

No, seems a bit touristy at this time.

A few years ago was attractive, I think, but further south is the way to go IMVHO. Bocas de Tometlan (sp) is a place close to Vallarta I would like to explore, as you might guess the further from Vallarta the more remote it gets quickly, but >Vallarta is a blast, for what it is.

Yalapa may be great for all I know, but ya can only do so much in a month.

Anyway don´t tell anyone about Melaque - even the nationals think is is a great place, but hard and long to get to.

OMG what a bay, what a location and what prices and what friendly country folks.

The relationship between morality and liberty is a directly proportional one.
