So how can the US Government be the "ONLY PROVIDER" of Health Care?

Isn't the FED Illegal also? It is the only source of "MONEY".

Congress has a monopoly on creating laws! Arrest them all for breaking the law! ;)

God is always good!

The little-known truth is that when the government took Standard Oil to court in 1907, Standard Oil's market share had been declining for a decade. Far from being a "monopoly," Standard's share of petroleum refining was approximately 64% at the time of trial. Moreover, there were at least 147 other domestic oil-refining competitors in the market — and some of these were large, vertically integrated firms such as Texaco, Gulf Oil, and Sun. Kerosene outputs had expanded enormously (contrary to usual monopolistic conduct); and prices for kerosene had fallen from more than $2 per gallon in the early 1860s to approximately six cents per gallon at the time of the trial. So much for the myth of the Standard Oil "monopoly.

According to a socialist idiot I work with, prior to Medicare people just died on their 65th birthday. And beagles love being yanked off the ground by their ears.

The US government isn't the only provider of health care insurance. And they don't propose to be. Instead, they are installing a Fascist system whereby you are required to write a check to an insurance company every month. Of course, the insurance companies wrote the bill and intend to make billions from it.

You should call someone at MSNBC and let them know all this. Let me know how it goes. :)

As you know, the mainstream media is just a puppet for their advertisers, including Big Pharma and the insurance companies.

Big Pharma And Insurance Industry Lobby Heavily For Obamacare March 30th, 2010 Keith Johnson reports

Looks like we’ve been right all along. All the big K Street money pumped into the House and Senate has been overwhelmingly one-sided in favor of Obama’s horrendous new healthcare legislation. Go figure. According to a study released over the weekend by “The Center for Public Policy”, a non-partisan public interest think tank in Washington D.C., it is estimated that a record $120 million was spent lobbying for health reform. In addition to direct lobbying, some of the top firms also rewarded members of Congress with campaign contributions through political action committees and individual lobbyist donations. The largest of these firms, Patton Boggs LLP, contributed more than $55,000 almost exclusively to Democrats.

Patton Boggs represents Bristol-Myers Squibb, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the nation and the eighth largest corporation in the United States. On January 21, 2010, Patton Boggs was one of several big name health insurance, pharmaceutical and hospital lobbying organizations whose top executives got together to throw a fundraiser for Massachusetts Senatorial candidate Martha Coakley in hopes of landing her the Democratic seat and the crucial 60th vote needed to pass the healthcare takeover bill. The other top firms that participated (along with a list of the companies they represent) are as follows:

Capitol Hill Strategies:

Amgen—the nation’s largest biotechnology firm BIO—a muli million dollar biotechnology firm Merck—the largest pharmaceutical company in the world Pharmaceutical Researchers and Manufacturers of America– a trade group representing pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies

Grover Park Group:

Blue Cross—a federation of 39 health insurance organizations Pfizer—a pharmaceutical company, ranking number one in sales in the world

Duberstein Group:

Novartis—a pharmaceutical company ranking number one in revenues and three in sales Sanofi-Aventis—a pharmaceutical company that ranks number four in sales worldwide

Mehlman, Vogel, Castagnetti:

Humana—the fourth largest health insurance company in the United States Abbott Laboratories—a multi billion dollar pharmaceuticals healthcare company General Electric—multi billion dollar corporation dealing in many health related sectors

Elmendorf strategies:

UnitedHealth Group—the nations largest health insurance company

Heather Podesta & Partners:

Cigna—the nation’s fifth largest health insurance company Eli Lilly—a multi billion dollar pharmaceutical company that ranks tenth in sales

Again I use a socialist co-worker as an object lesson: a few years ago we had several plans to choose from at work, I had United Healthcare and almost every day heard how evil they were from Idiot #1 (she also hates CSX railroad of all things, probably because they made money where Conrail faled miserably, and we don't have any connection at all to railroad industry).

Thank God I was recently prevented from participating in this evil plan, and now get to pay twice as much in monthly premiums and my copay tripled. Our HR department, in conjuction with Obama administration, was prolly worried all that extra money in my pocket would lead to gambling addiction or whatever it is people with too much money succumb to.

That sucks. I've been hearing how a lot of the insurance companies are dropping people just when they need a live-saving operation and raising their premium costs thru the roof for their customers. I think that is part of the plan to make people think that the Obama single-payer/government plan is what we are going to have to implement. Of course, that will be contracted out to one lucky insurance company or maybe a consortium of insurance companies to administer for the government. The people will be forced to pay them and they will only answer to the government (if even that).
