You don't stop being a Jew just because you believe in Christ; the first Christians probably deserved it.
Christians committed suicide by refusing to pledge alliegance to Roman gods. Even the Romans didn't believe in them. All they had to say was, "I pledge alliegance," but they wouldn't do it, instead calling the Roman's nonexistent gods "demons."
Many soldiers were horrified they had to kill them, but when people are determined to committ suicide, they have no one to blame but themselves.
It'd be like preferring to die rather than say the Pledge of Alliegance.

The early Christians had integrity. Allegiance meant something to them and their allegiance was not for "sale" at any price. You can disparage them but look around and see who you can fully trust today? Whose word is as good as gold these days?
Certainly not Christians who believe in the Rapture, supports wars and think Jews are the Chosen People.
