Two US Republican congressmen have submitted a draft bill that seeks to put an end to the US military intervention in Libya before the operations receive authorization by the Congress.

On Tuesday, Representatives Timothy Johnson of Illinois and Justin Amash of Michigan introduced the draft legislation that aims to suspend all fundings to measures involving US President Barack Obama's decision to intervene in Libya, Xinhua reported.

"Constitutionally, it is indisputable that Congress must be consulted prior to an act of war unless there is an imminent threat against this country. The President has not done so," said Rep. Johnson.

"The President cannot constitutionally order an offensive military operation without Congress's authorization. The argument is not about 'consultation' with Congress. It's more fundamental than that. It's about whether the president by himself can order an attack on another country when that country has not attacked or is not about to attack the U.S. The Constitution plainly forbids such action,” Amash said.

The Pentagon has said that the Libyan intervention has cost US taxpayers nearly 550 million dollars so far. These costs are expected to remain at 40 million dollars per month from now on.

Obama has also declared that he is considering plans to supply arms to Libyan opposition forces in their fight against Colonel Muammar Gaddafi.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has claimed that the UN sanctions prohibiting the delivery of arms to Libya do not apply to the anti-government forces.

Experts say the main motive behind the Western attack on Libya is the vast oil reserves of the North African country.

Libya is also one of only five of Africa’s 54 countries that have not been integrated into, which is to say subordinated to, the new U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM).

The others are:

Sudan, which is being balkanized as Libya may also soon be.

Ivory Coast, now embroiled in what is for all intents a civil war with the West backing the armed groups of Alassane Ouattara against standing president Laurent Gbagbo and under the threat of foreign military intervention, likely by the AFRICOM- and NATO-supported West African Standby Force and possibly with direct Western involvement. [5]

Eritrea, which borders Djibouti where some 5,000 U.S. and French troops are based and which was involved in an armed border conflict with its neighbor three years ago in which French military forces intervened on behalf of Djibouti.

Zimbabwe, which is among likely candidates for the next U.S.-NATO Operation Odyssey Dawn-type military intervention.

It was an UNAUTHORIZED act of war on a sovereign nation and begs for impeachment.

A complete violation of the War Powers Act.

Yes it certainly was an UNAUTHORIZED act of war on a sovereign nation but Obama isn't entitled to an impeachment process if he isn't a legitimate officeholder per the natural born citizen requirement. He's had more than enough time to submit the criteria so 3 days notice to pack and leave is about all that should have to be done at this point.

Impeachment is only possible if "authorized" by the Israeli lobby which no doubt wanted to see US fire power cause enough chaos in Libya to stop Gaddafi from pushing for return to Palestinians of lands stolen by Israeli terrorists. Having thus upset Gaddafi's "apple cart" Obama is weaseling out of the mission by turning it over to NATO. With the damage already done to Gaddafi's military the sanctimonious Israeli toadies in Congress may well cut funding for the mission in order to pacify indignant voters.

Also, using up those half million dollar Tomahawks makes possible for rebuilding the inventory with more up-to-date weaponry.

What's really disgusting is the alacrity with which Israel's political toadies in the US, Britain and Canada pounced on one of Israel's enemies rather than initiating a negotiative process which Gaddafi tried to get underway from the Arab League and/or the UN. This toady trio and the rest of the world should have been mustering all possible resources to help Japan cope with the mess at its damaged nuclear plant, supplying robotic water bombers, building containment ponds to keep radioactivity out of the sea. Especially the US since it is the owner of the spent fuel rods but had not removed them because of the NIMBY storage problem. This could likely be proven as negligence thus making Uncle Sam liable for damages from spreading radioactivity.

I haven't double-checked the math but this is an excerpt from an article posted by a blogger at whatreallyhappened.com:

How and Why The Elite Destroyed 3 Tons of Silver Last Week

So far the US has thrown 3 tons of silver at Libya just with the Tomahawk missiles. That silver is gone forever as it is blown to a million pieces. (Never mind the poor bastards at the at the other end of missile’s target.) If we added the 191 Tomahawks from this “Kinetic Military Action” to the 288 from Gulf War 1, the 325 used in Sebia and Iraq in 98, and the 725 launched in Gulf War 2 that is just over 800,000 ounces of silver or 25 tons of silver gone forever.

That is just from the Tomahawk missile program. What about all of the other weapons programs in the Empire’s trillion dollar a year arsenal?
