A tough battle continues in eastern Afghanistan's most volatile area where six U.S. soldiers died on Tuesday, said Maj. Gen. John F. Campbell, commanding general of the 101st Airborne Division.

Campbell spoke to reporters at Fort Campbell on the Tennessee-Kentucky state line during a video conference from his headquarters in Bagram on Thursday and said that 117 members of the 101st have died in Afghanistan since last March. All six soldiers were from the 1st Brigade Combat Team.

The latest deaths came during ongoing combat to clear insurgents from eastern Afghanistan. Campbell said he couldn't discuss details because the operation was ongoing but called it a joint mission involving NATO forces, the Afghan National Army and border police in Kunar province.

"There were a significant number of insurgents killed in this operation, several large caches found and this operation is still ongoing," he said.

Campbell said the province that sits along the border with Pakistan is one of the most active places for insurgents in the eastern region of the country and he expects that it will be one of the last areas to be transitioned to Afghan security control.

"We knew that we would get a fight in there," he said. "We do expect that the enemy, over the course of the spring, will try to surge back. We believe we have done some significant damage to the insurgents in Regional Command East over the last 10 months or so."

Attacks on coalition forces have remained high even over the winter months during this deployment, Campbell said. Attacks since October were up 21 percent over last winter, but he said their effectiveness is lower.

"Some of them leave and then come back out of Pakistan," Campbell said. "Many have stayed and fought throughout the winter."

He said morale remains high for the troops from the storied division, who have suffered their deadliest year in combat since Vietnam.

"They've been able to look over the last 10 months and look at the accomplishments they have had, the difference they have made in the lives of the Afghan people," he said.

Campbell said the entire Fort Campbell community was grieving the loss of the six soldiers and gave his condolences to their families. The Pentagon released the names of the six soldiers on Thursday.

They were Staff Sgt. Bryan A. Burgess, 29, of Cleburne, Texas; Pfc. Dustin J. Feldhaus, 20, of Glendale, Ariz.; Sgt. 1st Class Ofren Arrechaga, 28, of Hialeah, Fla.; Staff Sgt. Frank E. Adamski III, 26, of Moosup, Conn.; Spc. Jameson L. Lindskog, 23, of Pleasanton, Calif.; and Pvt. Jeremy P. Faulkner, 23, of Griffin, Ga.

And now we're about to invade Libya. Three wars at once. Then Israel attacks either Iran or Syria.

And we don't even have a draft.

What fun.

Ike was a Jew. A Jew put him in office as a republican.

When he did NOT bow to the Jew cabal, rather took a tough line on Russia, and then blew the whistle on the MIC he was doomed to be a run of the mill President in history.

Not in my book.

His indictment needs to be updated to GMIC...the government in total is now working hand and glove with the MIC.

It's going to take a one or two day slaughter of our troops like what happened on Iwo Jima or Okinawa to get anybody's attention these days.

Americans, as represented here, are misguided in that, those that are dying are "volunteers" thus the number killed is of no interest. They are paid mercenaries, which makes them hired killers.

However if we look back a few years, we find that in order to avoid military service, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WERE OVERWHELMINGLY IN FAVOR OF PAYING TOP DOLLAR TO THE POOR OF AMERICA TO VOLUNTEER.

WE vote, WE pay the taxes to hire the lowest class of Americans to kill or be killed, so there will be no draft, thus, WE HAVE CLEAN HANDS, IT IS THE SOCIOPATHIC KIDS WE HIRE THAT ARE TOO BLAME.

Of those that died, look at their ages, look at their rank. Had there been a draft, the very same people would most likely be the names listed.

What matters is, it is of no concern to Americans as long as I AND MY FAMILY ARE NOT INVOLVED. That is going to change, and there will be weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth. That will get their attention, when their little Johnny is dragged off to kill or be killed.

There will never be another draft here.

Mexicans, and other foreigners, will be enticed to fight (and die) for the promise of expedited citizenship in this hell-hole.

Many native-born citizens will sign up with the employer of last resort, but there will be no draft here.

Plus, there's always Blackwater, and other merc companies to hire.

"The Selective Training and Service Act of 1940, also known as the Burk-Wadsworth Act, 54 Stat. 885 was passed by the Congress of the United States on September 25, 1940,[1] becoming the first peacetime conscription in United States history when President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed it into law two days later. This Selective Service Act required that men between the ages of 21 and 35 register with local draft boards.

Later, when the U.S. entered World War II, all men aged 18 to 45 were made liable for military service, and all men aged 18 to 65 were required to register. [2] The Selective Service System created by the Act was terminated by the Act of March 31, 1947, and a similar but distinct Selective Service System was introduced by the Selective Service Act of 1948."

My Grandfather was a Roosevelt fan, because he would never send American boys to fight in foreign wars. When the call came for all men to age 65 to register, Roosevelt all of a sudden was a no good SOB. My Grandfather was 62 and he marched right out and registered, just like everyone else.

Couldnt happen, wouldnt happen but it did. In 1948, it happened all over again, and everyone marched right out and registered.

Way back then what the government had in mind was that lacking industrial manpower, they would take older men and send them to work where needed. That really torqued my Grandfather. Fortunately for him, American women went to work.

I thought this too once, but I see so many Mothers and Fathers gladly send off their progeny to slaughter, like cows are to veal, they are more than happy to get their flag and a sticker on their mini-van in exchange for the 'pride' of their 'sacrifice'. Personally, my twin sons, age 21, were recruited by the "Standing Army", even laid in wait out in front of my house for a day, I showed the POS my Louisville Slugger and he finally got the message.

Good for you.

However, I have seen that situation too many times to agree.

At age 21, when the call comes, and it will, THEY WILL GO.

I saw too many such situations in two wars, when they came for the kids, they went voluntarily or were dragged away.

And your friends and neighbors will not lift a hand to help you and or your sons.

When they came for me, no one cared, the only thing that saved me was I was already in Korea.

I missed the Vietnam draft by a few years, I lived in Upstate New York, and had plans to go to Canada if drafted, F*ck the "STATE".

I don't think there will be a draft any time soon. If 'they' come for my sons I will take Solzhenitsyn's advice.

We knew there would never be a draft back in the 1930s. FDR said so, and the people were confident in returning him to office. The country was at peace and only a fool would think of a draft.

There was but one problem, FDR and the government were lying to us, they were plotting and planning some way to involve us in a foreign war. From experience, it does not pay to believe what government says nor what the media wants you to read.

Out of nowhere came our first peacetime draft, the people were stunned, that couldnt happen, something was wrong. What was wrong was the gullibility of the masses, but it was too late. You went to war or were dragged to war, I have seen such, it does happen.

After WW2 no more draft, peace in our time, once again. A draft would be out of the question, only a fool would think it could happen twice.

Well, in 1948, the fool was right, and out came another peacetime draft without a war but the government soon found one.

My brothers and I were invited to participate in both, and we did.

Mind you, the masses were confident there would never be a peacetime draft.

The FBI and police came for me in 1952, I was in Korea.

The military syndrome is somewhat more complex. Preoccupation of families with jobs and the boob tube has precluded parents from instilling discipline and values in their children. The school system has been even a bigger failure. So the only thing left is the military to act as a catalyst for right of passage into adulthood in America. In addition you have "Jew Hollywood" capitalizing on the military, portraying it in many instances, as one of the great adventures you'll experience if you join, intentionally or unintentionally serving Organized Jewry's greater goal of a strong America being available to serve as a protector of the illegal Israeli state (as a result of the Israeli lobby controlling national politicians by successfully funding their election campaigns). On the Jew-controlled media, you hear jingoistic ads like: Who are the most-valued members of society? Our military of course, because of the sacrifices... Prominent Americans: Jesse Ventura, Art Bell, George Noory - all veterans. Callers to talk shows identifying themselves as veterans are thanked for their service to "their country" on the Jew-controlled media.

It's only when a parent like Cindy Sheehan has discovered the magnitude of the hoax Organized Jewry is perpetrating on America that it becomes apparent the military is the last place to send your child.

Ever since Organized Jewry's patron "saint" made it big on the London Stock Exchange in the Napoleonic war "Jewish" connivance has had a major role in the wars of the last century, WWI and WWII to facilitate establishment of the illegal Israeli state, the Cold War and export of Communism by Soviet Bolshevik Jews to maintain control of their domestic population, and now the instigation of wars against any country which tries to help Palestinians get back lands stolen by Israeli terrorists. So terminate the illegal Israeli state or kick out duels from positions of political power and the army will be a great place for manhood values without killing anyone or being killed.
