Maybe someone can find him/her. Isn't there some legal precident for filing a lawsuit for doing that? Remember someone hacked Palin's email...and I think the guy went to jail, or something bad happened to him.

Yeah, anyone could find out, at least for the # she claimed was the hacker's number. I imagine--and this is assuming that there were actually any "hacking" going on, the hacker would use a proxy and she wouldn't have gotten the actual IP.

Could be, no idea. I just did a google search on the number she posted and then posted the results I got. As I said, anyone who wants to hack someone else's computer, or into some business or government computer, will use a proxy and it is highly unlikely they will be found easily.

I goofed up on that should be.... 0-255 which makes 256 numbers including 0.

Buckeroo is right, 291 is not a valid IP.

DHS, echelon and other US gov spyware probably has the info, but we ain't going to see it. It's all top secret, and they'll claim they're not spying on the "good guys", just terrrrrists.

Correct. It is not valid. Which makes me wonder where the IP came from. I'd be amazed if that number actually existed in the LP's apache or pinguinite log files. I'd first believe either Goldi mistyped it or something.

Yeah like some of the excuses for an obvious error about the Internet gremlin (or the boogieman or some faerie) modifying a post. I have seen those lame ass excuses too.

The truth is, Goldie is having her inner sanctum check out the authenticity of posts by an IP address; since she can't accurately or precisely make one that is meaningful, it is obvious Goldie is playing on thin ice.

I am praying to GOD that someone on LP describes her "193" IP address with a "I found it" post. Oh man, I shall die of a heart attack from sheer laffter... by the way, my wife has asked why I am on the Internet so much this past week .... my reply is that there are some of the most AWESOME jokes and yuks (pun intended) running around.

Let's see now. The IP is in Europe, Goldi has one European poster, the Israel-Firster Marguerite.

I think Inspector Klink, A K A Gatlin, needs to look deeply into this.
